If Kate Hudson has her way, she hopes to portray Stevie Nicks in a biopic one day. In an interview with Rolling Stone on Sunday, June 2, the 45-year-old actress expressed her admiration for the iconic rock singer. Kate shared, "I think for all girls who love rock, Stevie is just our No. 1. Her life story and music, especially with Fleetwood Mac, is like a trilogy. The journey from before Stevie to after, and her relationship with Lindsey Buckingham, there's so much depth there. For me, that's the ultimate rock & roll tale."
Hudson, who recently released her debut studio album Glorious, admitted that she would be hesitant to step into Nick's rock and roll shoes. She jokingly mentioned that her family might disown her if she ever had the opportunity to play Stevie, as they would worry she would take the method acting too far.
However, there are other idols that Hudson would love to portray on screen. She mentioned that she has a couple of idols in mind, including British singer Dusty Springfield, who passed away in March 1999 at the age of 59 after battling breast cancer.
Hudson explained that for her, it's not just about the music, but also about the fascinating life behind the artist and being able to share that story authentically. She mentioned that Springfield is one of her favorite musicians because of her shy nature.
Hudson added that Springfield had a lot of stage fright and was a truly intriguing woman. She believed that Springfield struggled with being open about her sexuality, and thought that her story could make a very powerful movie.
Hudson revealed that she waited several years before releasing her first record and venturing into the music industry due to a fear of rejection. She confessed this during a recent interview with Variety.
She mentioned that while she has developed a tough skin for handling rejection in the acting world, she found the music sphere to be more vulnerable. Hudson expressed that if she had pursued music in her late 20s, she may have struggled with taking criticism to heart. Now, at her current age and stage in life, she no longer harbors the same fear of rejection.
"I simply want to share my art. I understand that not everyone will appreciate it," she explained. "But I refuse to let fear hold me back. I believe in putting my art out into the world."

Kate Hudson, the daughter of Goldie Hawn and Bill Hudson, has quite the story herself. At the age of 19 in 2000, Kate met her first husband, Chris Robinson. They quickly got married and had a son named Ryder in 2004. Following their separation in 2007, Kate moved on to date Muse lead singer Matt Bellamy. They got engaged in 2011 and had a son named Bing the same year. Unfortunately, the relationship ended in 2014. Later on, Kate started dating her current fiancé, Danny Fujikawa, in 2016. They now have a daughter named Rani, born in October 2018.
Looking back on her life, Kate shared with "Call Her Daddy" host Alex Cooper that she believes she made the right choices when it comes to romance. She emphasized the importance of choosing a healthy relationship above all else.
She explained that being able to prioritize her health in relationships has made it easier for her to leave toxic situations. While it may have been difficult at times, she believes that it is crucial to recognize when a relationship is not serving your well-being. Kate highlighted that even if a relationship is not meant to be, it can still hold valuable lessons and beautiful experiences.
