The Kansas City Chiefs are embracing the passion of football this NFL season. The official social media page of the team released a sneak peek of an upcoming trailer called Falling for Football, featuring Tyler Hynes and Jannel Parrish. In the trailer, Hynes plays a Chiefs fan who is torn between his love for the team and his girlfriend, played by Parrish.
Parrish catches Hynes shopping for Chiefs fan gear, leading to an emotional outburst from her and an attempt to chase after her by Hynes. The full trailer will be released on Wednesday, January 9, and is described as a playful spoof on Hynes and Parrish’s Hallmark movies. The team shared the news with a caption stating, "Nobody hates football… catch the full trailer of Falling for Football tomorrow morning ️."
Uncertain whether the trailer is a promotional video for the team or for an upcoming TV movie, the team also shared a poster on Instagram that evokes Hallmark’s well-known Christmas romance films. The caption reads, “‘Tis the postseason, and it ain’t a holiday without a little made-for-TV movie magic.”
The poster depicts Hynes and Parrish gazing lovingly into each other’s eyes with a Chiefs logo between them and the words, “Coming to a stadium near you.”
Donna Kelce shared the poster on her Instagram Story, igniting speculation among fans about whether Falling for Football was inspired by her son, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, and his relationship with Taylor Swift.
In the comments section of the Chiefs' post, one fan wrote, "If this isn't the true story of Taylor and Travis, I'm out." Another commented, "OK marketing. This is great," while a third user jokingly suggested that the Chiefs missed an opportunity by not casting Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift as the main characters.
Hynes, for his part, commented:”It’s me. Hi. I’m the problem it’s me. .”

The Kansas City Chiefs (@chiefs) shared a post referencing the romance between Travis and Swift, tying it to NFL promotional material. Last month, a promo on ESPN's Sunday NFL Countdown featured Hallmark screenwriter Julie Sherman Wolfe comparing the 2023-2024 football season to a Christmas movie she would write for her network.
Wolfe, known for writing 24 movies for Hallmark, discusses in the video how the NFL is similar to her films, filled with unexpected moments and pure joy. She also mentions the unexpected romance that some players experience, and as she speaks, the screen shows a moment of Travis, 34, on the field while Swift, also 34, cheers for him in the stands.
While acknowledging that not everyone gets a happy ending, Wolfe emphasizes that love remains, especially at Christmas, and that eventually, everyone will have their own storybook ending. She concludes by pointing out that, after all, it's Hallmark.
Travis and Swift's romance has been the stuff of NFL legend since they were first connected in September 2023. The duo has consistently shown up to cheer each other on in their professional endeavors, with Swift frequently spotted at numerous Chiefs games across the nation.

Check out this exclusive offer! Despite some sports fans' reservations about the frequent coverage of Swift during games, she has openly expressed in her December 2023 TIME cover story that she is unbothered by the opinions of the "Dads, Brads, and Chads" she may offend by attending her boyfriend's games.
Swift explained that a public relationship meant being able to see each other pursue their passions, showing up for one another, and not being concerned about others' presence. On the other hand, she stated that the opposite required significant effort to keep the relationship hidden, and that they were simply proud of each other.
