Kaity Biggar Opens Up About the Impact of Couples Therapy with Zach Shallcross

Kaity Biggar and Zach Shallcross found love on season 28 of The Bachelor, and their relationship continues to thrive. Despite their happy ending on the show, the couple is committed to working on their relationship.

At 28 years old, Biggar shared on Instagram that she and 27-year-old Shallcross attended couples therapy after getting engaged on the finale of the show in March 2023. Looking forward to getting married in 2025, Biggar credits couples therapy for helping them strengthen their bond once their time on the reality show ended.

"Zach and I decided to start couples therapy right after the show," Biggar shared on her Instagram Story on Wednesday, March 20. She was responding to a fan question about premarital counseling. "Even when things are going well in a relationship, couples counseling can be incredibly beneficial."

The travel nurse added, "It has helped us enhance our communication skills and address any unresolved issues, contributing to the maintenance of our already very healthy relationship. Especially after coming off a hectic show like The Bachelor, it has encouraged vulnerability and openness, which I used to struggle with."

Biggar recently made remarks about their new home in Austin, Texas, three months after the Bachelor couple settled in. She excitedly posted on her Instagram Stories on January 11, calling it "Officially our new home," while sharing a charming photo of their two-story house.

Biggar and Shallcross crossed paths in the fall of 2022 at the premiere of Shallcross’ season of the popular ABC reality show, which was broadcasted in January 2023. Despite getting along well at first, their relationship hit a rough patch during the fantasy suites. Shallcross had initially expressed his reluctance to engage in sexual activities on the show, but he later admitted to Biggar that he had been intimate with Gabi Elnicki.

Before fantasy suite week, I was excited to spend intimate time with the person I was with, hoping to deepen our emotional connection and see each other without the cameras around. I didn't have high expectations because I knew things don't always go as planned in the Bachelor world. Despite facing a challenge, we ended up coming out of it stronger.

After overcoming the rough patch, Shallcross surprised me by proposing, expressing his love in a way I never thought possible. He said, "The love I feel for you is something I could’ve never imagined and something I thought a lot of my life I would never be able to deserve."
