Former Bachelor Zach Shallcross and his fiancée Kaity Biggar are gearing up for their big day in Texas. Biggar, 29, shared the exciting news on Instagram on Wednesday, April 17. The couple has set their wedding date for October 2025 in the Lone Star State. Additionally, they will be meeting with a wedding planner next week to start planning their special day.

Biggar and Shallcross, both 27 years old, are happy to call Austin their home. In January, the couple excitedly announced that they had bought their first house together in the Lone Star State. Biggar shared a glimpse of their two-story home on her Instagram Story, declaring it as their new official residence.

Before officially owning a home, Biggar couldn't contain her excitement about living with her soon-to-be husband.

"Our bond has definitely deepened since we started living together. It's true," Biggar shared with fans in an Instagram Story Q&A in October 2023. "We enjoy watching movies, waking up together, doing activities, cooking, and cleaning as a team."

At the time, Biggar mentioned that their wedding plans were not finalized. She shared that they were considering a destination wedding and were open to exploring different options, such as Canada, where she is originally from.

The pair, who appeared on season 27 of The Bachelor, revealed in a 2023 interview with Austin Monthly that they chose Texas over the usual Bachelor Nation hubs of New York or California.

"We wanted to return to a sense of normalcy," Shallcross shared. "We wanted to focus on our careers and reintegrate into a regular routine as much as possible. While some may opt for L.A. to pursue opportunities, we are drawn to Austin. We appreciate the vibrant atmosphere here, and it seems like many others do too."

Biggar mentioned that she is going back to work as a nurse after her time on reality TV. She expressed that they are not seeking attention, but simply aiming to live a normal life.

The couple talked about the possibility of having their wedding in Canada. They also thought about traveling to a farther location for the ceremony. During an interview on the "Bachelor Happy Hour" podcast, they shared that their ideal wedding spot would be on a beach in Turks and Caicos. Biggar mentioned that they didn't want to spend a huge amount of money on just one day. Shallcross added that they have a clear idea of how they want their wedding to be.

“Very small, very intimate, close family and friends, but make it fun for everyone,” he explained. “We want to go somewhere cool and leave it at that. Make it a vacation for everyone.”
