Justin Hartley's character Colter steps up as the hero we've all been waiting for in the latest Tracker case he's working on.
In an exclusive clip from the upcoming episode of We, scheduled to air on Sunday, March 3, Colter finds himself in a race against time to assist Reenie's close friend Erika (Marley Shelton) in locating her missing teenage son, Noah. The main obstacle he faces is obtaining crucial information from the headmaster at Noah's private school.
Colter questions Mr. Gilroy in the video, pointing out that the school resembles a prison that students are attempting to flee from. Despite this, Mr. Gilroy insists that the school's unconventional methods are necessary for ensuring student safety.
In his defense, Mr. Gilroy explains that the outdoor-based curriculum is designed to foster confidence and self-reliance in students. He highlights the school's track record of over 30 years in successfully transforming the lives of young individuals.
In response, Colter questions what is being done to track down Noah after he disappeared without a trace.

Mr. Gilroy explains that there is a safety protocol in place when a student is unaccounted for past the 10 P.M. bed check, which includes activating a 12-member security team led by Tom Ritter. He then asks everyone to leave so they can begin their work. Justin Hartley stars as Colter Shaw and Fiona Rene as Reenie Greene in this episode.
Colter is persistent in his request, expressing his belief that Mr. G will find Noah, but also noting that Mr. G seems more anxious than he is revealing. He asks, "Why is that?"
After some hesitation, Mr. Gilroy acknowledges that Noah had a history of substance abuse problems and had experienced a relapse before. This revelation raises concerns among the school staff about Noah's sudden disappearance from their secure facility.
Mr. Gilroy mentions that relapse is a common occurrence for former drug addicts, suggesting the possibility that the individual left the campus to seek drugs. However, Colter is not accepting any excuses.

He points out, "Mrs. Kennedy wants her son located. So far you have been unable to do that and that is why I am here," before Mr. Gilroy replies, "With all due respect, we have experience in these matters. And I don’t have any more time to waste explaining this to you. Now I would be happy to show you the way out."
Despite attempts to keep him away from the investigation, Colter stands his ground and gets offered 30 minutes to look through Noah’s room for clues.
“We should go to his dorm and see if you can find something that can lead to where he went,” he tells Reenie and Erika while figuring out their next steps.

Noah’s disappearance is the latest case that Colter Shaw, portrayed by Justin Hartley, must unravel on the popular CBS procedural Tracker. The show, which debuted recently, features Hartley as a survival expert who roams the nation aiding individuals and authorities in solving a range of enigmas. Throughout the episodes, audiences uncover the backstory of Colter, shedding light on how his past experiences have influenced his present existence as a solitary figure who opts for solitude.
Hartley, who is also an executive producer on Tracker, has previously discussed his fascination with his character. In an interview with CNN in February, he described his character as unique, highlighting the rarity of someone who possesses a wide range of skills. Hartley emphasized that most people do not have the ability to do all that his character can. Despite a difficult childhood and rough upbringing, the character learns these skills and uses them as an adult to aid others, making him a compelling and relatable protagonist.
The actor clarified that despite Colter bending the rules to achieve results, he does not consider him to be an "anti-hero". Colter's actions outside the law are driven by a desire for justice or to assist those in need, rather than being a deliberate rule breaker. He is portrayed as a multifaceted character, also functioning as a businessman.
"Tracker" is broadcast on CBS on Sundays at 9 p.m. ET. Viewers can catch new episodes streaming on Paramount+ the following day.
