Christian Dumontet, Christine Quinn's estranged husband, made an appearance in Los Angeles criminal court on Tuesday, June 4. This was his first public appearance since his arrest in March on charges of domestic violence.

Seen in the courthouse hallway surrounded by his lawyers, Dumontet, 45, was deep in conversation. He was dressed in a dark grey suit and tie, wearing his signature glasses. Interestingly, he was not wearing his wedding ring, as noted by an eyewitness who spoke to We.

Dumontet sat calmly in the courtroom, occasionally laughing during conversation, with his bodyguard nearby. His lawyer, Alexandra Kazarian, stood beside him as he faced the judge. Instead of entering a plea, Kazarian requested another hearing on July 26.

The judge allowed Dumontet to go free but with strict instructions. He must avoid contact with the ex-reality star and their son, and stay at least 100 yards away from them. This includes their former home in Los Angeles where the arrest took place.

According to Quinn’s attorney, Jacqueline Sparagna, Dumontet was served with a criminal protective order at the courthouse for his arraignment, which is a new development in the case.

“That’s the most important thing — is the criminal protective order is now in place,” she tells Us, which she adds is “indefinite.”

“He can’t go near her.”

There are currently two protective orders against the tech mogul. The other one is a civil protective order, with a hearing scheduled for July 30. The temporary order in that case has been extended until that date.

Dumontet's team filed a motion for reconsideration of substituted service. However, her attorney mentioned that this motion is now considered "moot" since Dumontet was already served earlier in the morning.

"We never know when he's going to show up. We believe he has been hiding out in the Four Seasons hotel, making it difficult to serve him," Sparagna explained. "This is a victory for us. We are pleased that he finally showed up as required and is ready to face the consequences."

Dumontet was arrested in March after a reported domestic violence incident involving Quinn, 35. He was accused of assaulting their son, Christian, by hitting him with a bag of glass that he intended to throw at Quinn.

After the incident, a temporary restraining order was issued right away. Dumontet was arrested again within a day for breaking the order and returning to their home.

Quinn accused Dumontet of throwing “dog feces” at her and urinating on the floor during a previous argument. She also mentioned that he threw floral arrangements on the ground, which led her to lock him out of the house.

In response, Dumontet filed a restraining order against Quinn in March. He stated in court documents that he confronted Quinn after their dogs urinated on his belongings. He recounted throwing a trash bag filled with rags and paper towels at the wall during the confrontation.

Quinn was granted a temporary restraining order against Dumontet in April, but Dumontet's request for a restraining order against Quinn was denied. Quinn later accused Dumontet of hiding to avoid being served with the restraining order, but he was eventually served with the documents in May.

Dumontet faced legal trouble in May when he was accused of three misdemeanor charges: child abuse/endangerment, assault, and violating a protective order. Sparagna, representing the victims, expressed satisfaction with the decision. He emphasized the importance of protecting the legal and personal interests of the victims and urged for the matter to be taken seriously.

Quinn and Dumontet got married in December 2019 after meeting in the previous year. Their son was born in May 2021. In April, Dumontet filed for divorce from Quinn and requested full legal and physical custody of their child. Quinn also filed for sole legal and physical custody, stating in court documents that Dumontet's actions have jeopardized their son's health and well-being. She requested that Dumontet have no visitation rights with their son.
