Jonathan Majors Receives 1-Year Domestic Violence Counseling Following Assault Conviction

Jonathan Majors has been ordered to undergo 1 year of domestic violence counseling as part of his sentence for a conviction on domestic assault charges from his trial in December 2023.

Jonathan Majors has been ordered to attend one year of domestic violence counseling as part of his sentence for domestic assault charges.

Majors will need to participate in a 52-week, in-person domestic violence program in Los Angeles, with the possibility of virtual sessions in the future. In addition to this, he must also continue with mental health therapy and provide updates on his progress.

A 34-year-old actor was found guilty of assault in the third degree and harassment by a New York jury on December 18, 2023. However, he was acquitted of aggravated harassment in the second degree and another count of assault in the third degree.

The actor, whose name is Majors, was arrested in March 2023 for allegedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. According to CNN, he reportedly hit her with an open hand, causing substantial pain and a laceration behind her ear. Additionally, he allegedly put his hand on her neck, resulting in bruising and substantial pain.

Majors denied the allegations, but he was charged with assault and harassment. He pleaded not guilty. His spokesperson told CNN, "He has done nothing wrong. We look forward to clearing his name and clearing this up."

The judge granted a permanent order of protection between Jabbari and Majors on Monday. Violating the terms of his sentencing can result in potential jail time.

Jabbari gave a victim impact statement during the sentencing hearing, as reported by Variety. She expressed her concerns about the perpetrator repeating his actions and harming another woman in the future. Jabbari also stated that the man believed he was above the law and highlighted the damage he had caused to her career, life, and body.

In June 2023, Majors filed a domestic violence counter-complaint against Jabbari, 31, accusing her of causing him to bleed during a reported altercation in March. In October 2023, it was confirmed that Jabbari had been arrested for assault and criminal mischief. However, the Manhattan District Attorney's Office stated that they had no plans to prosecute her because the case lacked prosecutorial merit. The case against her was officially closed and sealed.

Jonathan Majors was involved in a trial, where a text exchange between him and Jabbari was revealed. In the exchange, Majors appeared to advise Jabbari against seeking medical help for a head injury.

He expressed concern about the potential consequences of going to the hospital, mentioning that they may ask questions that could lead to an investigation, even if she were to lie.

In response, Jabbari stated that she would simply tell the doctor she bumped her head if she decided to go. She expressed her desire to wait one more day, but emphasized her need for stronger painkillers due to difficulty sleeping. She questioned why she would disclose the truth of what happened when her intention was to be with him.

Marvel Studios fired Majors following the December 2023 verdict. He was supposed to be the next major villain in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and had already appeared in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and seasons 1 and 2 of Loki.
