Jonathan Majors gave his first interview after being convicted of assault and harassment of his ex-girlfriend. The actor spoke with ABC News anchor Linsey Davis for an exclusive conversation set to air on "Good Morning America" Monday.
Majors entered a plea of not guilty to misdemeanor charges of assault and aggravated harassment following a domestic dispute with his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, in March 2023. He has maintained his innocence throughout the proceedings.
Following Majors' conviction, his lawyer Priya Chaudhry told CNN that he maintains confidence in the legal system and is eager to vindicate himself.
It is worth noting that Disney, the parent company of ABC, and also the owner of Marvel, decided to remove Majors from his role as the villain Kang in the upcoming film "Avengers: The Kang Dynasty" as a result of the case.
He played the role of Kang in the Marvel movie "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania," released in February. He also had a part in the Disney+ series "Loki," which premiered its second season in October of last year.
Majors was slated to star in "Avengers: The Kang Dynasty," set for a 2026 release, and another film based on his Marvel character, "Avengers: Secret Wars," scheduled to debut in 2027.
The actor is potentially looking at a year behind bars for the assault charge. Additionally, he could be facing a maximum of 15 days in jail and a $250 fine for the harassment offense. His sentencing is set for February 6th.
The interview will be featured on various ABC News programs and platforms, such as "GMA3: What You Need to Know" and will be available for streaming on ABC News Live's "Prime with Linsey Davis" on Monday.
