Jonathan Majors and Meagan Good made their first public appearance together on the red carpet after he was convicted of domestic assault nearly four months ago.

The couple looked happy and smiled as they attended the African American Film Critics Association (AAFCA) Special Achievement Honorees Luncheon on Sunday, March 3. Majors, 34, wore a black hat and gray trench coat while standing next to Good, 42.

The actress wore a yellow dress with a cutout that highlighted her toned stomach. The couple smiled and gazed lovingly at each other as cameras flashed.

This Sunday outing was the first time Good and Majors walked a red carpet together since beginning their romance in May 2023. Despite this, they had made several public appearances before. Good stood by Majors during his domestic abuse trial and eventual conviction.

Majors was arrested in March 2023 following an accusation of assault made by his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. Despite being taken into custody, Majors' representative has refuted all allegations. Shortly after his arrest, Majors was formally charged with assault and harassment.

Jonathan Majors' trial, which was originally scheduled for August 2023, was postponed multiple times at the request of his lawyer, Priya Chaudry. The trial finally commenced in November 2023.

The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office later made public some evidence, including text messages from Majors to Jabbari in September 2022 where he threatened suicide. Another set of messages showed Majors discouraging Jabbari from seeking medical help after she suffered a head injury.

The messages expressed concern that going to the hospital could lead to unwanted consequences. Majors mentioned that lying to protect themselves might not be enough to avoid investigation if suspicions arise during questioning by medical staff.

As the trial concluded in December 2023, Majors showed strong emotions during the closing statements. The jury ultimately convicted Majors of assault in the third degree and harassment. However, he was acquitted of aggravated harassment in the second degree and one count of assault in the third degree. As a result of his conviction, Majors, known for his role as Kang the Conqueror in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, was removed from upcoming projects.

In a January interview with Good Morning America, Majors shared that he was completely taken aback and scared when he received the verdict.

He shared, "Many things have changed in my personal life, career, and the culture. It's all about taking responsibility, being courageous, and sharing my side of the story."

Although the sentencing was supposed to take place last month, it has been rescheduled to April 8.
