JoJo Siwa has shared that she has spent $50,000 on cosmetic surgery because she feels very insecure. In an old video, the 20-year-old singer was asked about the most expensive thing she wore to an awards show, and she said it was her teeth.
Referring to her veneers, she added to BuzzFeed: “These motherf–kers cost me 50 grand.”
While it was all in good spirits, the former Dance Moms star has made no secret of her insecurities.
Siwa opened up to E! News last November, admitting, "I judge myself at everything. I'm a very insecure person."
She continued, "Everything gets judged," and then revealed, "You know, people have commented on my receding hairline, but they don't know that I have a stress rash causing my balding right here. It's tough for a 12-year-old to have a stress rash on their head that makes them lose hair, but that's my reality."
Now, JoJo Siwa is becoming increasingly confident in her appearance and fashion choices.
Last week, she surprised her fans by showing up at the iHeartRadio Music Awards on April 1st at the Dolby Theatre. She was wearing a mesh catsuit decorated with black beaded embroidery resembling flames, giving off a Kiss-inspired look. To top it off, she had bat wings attached to her sleeves.

Siwa decided to switch up her usual high ponytail hairstyle and went for an intricate mohawk with curls and braids. To add some glam, she sported a dark lip inspired by goth style and had black stars painted around her eyes, reminiscent of Gene Simmons and his Kiss bandmates in the ’70s. The only thing missing from her look was the white face paint.
Simmons, who is 74 years old, gave his approval of Siwa's bold style, stating to TMZ, "JoJo is cool. Anybody who doesn’t get it is just jealous, period. Never be ordinary. Always be extraordinary. JoJo is extraordinary and she looks cool. She looks like me, but that’s another story."
Editor's P/S:
JoJo Siwa's candor about her insecurities and cosmetic surgery expenses is both commendable and concerning. While it is important to address mental health and body image issues, the emphasis on wealth and spending can send a potentially harmful message, especially to young fans. However, Siwa's recent bold fashion choices, inspired by Kiss, demonstrate her growing confidence and willingness to embrace her individuality.
It is crucial to encourage healthy body image and self-acceptance, regardless of spending power. True confidence stems from within and should not be solely dependent on external enhancements. Siwa's message should inspire others to focus on self-love and embrace their unique qualities, rather than striving for unattainable standards set by society or the entertainment industry.
