John Corbett, aged 63, was spotted filming for the spinoff series of the original show, And Just Like That, alongside Sarah Jessica Parker in New York City on Tuesday, May 21st.

Corbett, who played Aidan Shaw in the second season of AJLT last year, was pictured standing with Parker, 59, and showrunner Michael Patrick King. He was dressed in a navy blue button-up shirt and grey pants.

In the photo, Parker was dressed casually in a grey top and baggy blue pants. However, on the same day, she was spotted filming in a sheer Simone Rocha dress paired with a matching jacket.

Parker’s on-set reunion with Corbett comes after her iconic character, Carrie Bradshaw, parted ways with Aidan during the August 2023 season 2 finale of AJLT.

During the episode, the couple who were in an on-again, off-again relationship made a decision to take a break for five years. Aidan suggested this break because his youngest son, Wyatt, got into a car accident in Virginia while Aidan was in NYC visiting Carrie. They both agreed to wait until Wyatt reaches adulthood before reevaluating their relationship.

Corbett's appearance on set indicates that Aidan will continue to be a part of AJLT's third season, despite the five-year plan. In season 2, his character reconnected with Parker's character after being apart for years. (Carrie's husband of 11 years, John James Preston, also known as Mr. Big (Chris Noth), passed away in the 2021 series premiere of AJLT.)

Many fans were surprised to see Carrie and Aidan go their separate ways in season 2, especially after waiting so long to see them back together. The creator of the spinoff series, King, who is 69 years old, defended this plot development during an appearance on AJLT's official companion podcast in August 2023.

He explained that she won't harm him because she understands she's not capable of doing so. Additionally, they want to avoid giving fans the impression that it happened before. The only way they believed he would distance himself from her is if his love and responsibility for his children overshadowed his feelings for her.

The Daily Mail reported in January that Sara Ramirez will not be returning to reprise their role as comedian Che Diaz for season 3 of AJLT.

Ramirez, who is 48 years old, did not comment on the news when it first came out. Instead, they went on social media to criticize the film and television industry for penalizing actors who have shown support for Palestinians in the midst of the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict.

In the social media post, Ramirez talked about their experience on AJLT using past tense. As of now, Max has not confirmed or denied Ramirez's departure from the show.

Rosie O’Donnell announced on Instagram on May 1 that she will be joining the cast of the HBO series for season 3. She shared a picture of the script for the first episode titled “Outlook Good” with the caption “Here comes Mary #andjustlikethat @hbo.” Ramirez’s future on the show remains uncertain.

Editor's P/S:

The reunion of John Corbett as Aidan Shaw in the upcoming third season of "And Just Like That..." has sparked mixed reactions among fans. While many were disappointed to see Carrie and Aidan part ways in the season 2 finale, Corbett's reappearance suggests a potential reconciliation. However, the showrunner's decision to introduce this plot twist has raised questions about the credibility of the characters' previous decisions.

Another noteworthy development is the departure of Sara Ramirez as Che Diaz. Ramirez's departure may be related to their outspoken support for the Palestinian cause, which has drawn criticism from some. The show's producers have yet to confirm Ramirez's exit, but her absence will undoubtedly have an impact on the show's dynamics. Meanwhile, the addition of Rosie O'Donnell to the cast brings a new layer of excitement to the upcoming season.
