Johnson, 51, and Cena, 46, both achieved immense success in the world of WWE, earning numerous titles. They both transitioned into successful acting careers, with each making appearances in the popular Fast & Furious franchise. Cena showcased his talent in Fast X and F9: The Fast Saga, while Johnson made his mark in Fast X, The Fate of the Furious, Furious 7, Fast & Furious 6, Fast Five, and the spinoff Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw in 2019.
Cena reflected on his past actions, acknowledging that he didn't handle things in the most respectful manner. As a result, he had to swallow his pride and admit his mistakes, offering a sincere apology. He recognized that he had become the very person he once opposed, gaining a new perspective and a humbling experience from his feud with The Rock. Cena expressed admiration for Johnson, recognizing him as a remarkable individual.
In a 2008 interview with The Sun, Cena expressed his reasons for criticizing Johnson.
"I constantly hear this narrative from young talents, mid-card talents, and aspiring individuals in this industry - 'I've had a lifelong dream of being a part of this.' Johnson falls into that category," the wrestler/actor stated. "He was someone who genuinely loved wrestling and aspired to do it his whole life. So, why can't he come back for a 15th Anniversary show or make an appearance at Wrestlemania? The simple truth is that he prioritizes his acting career."

"Please don't deceive me by claiming that you love this activity when in reality you are only doing it as a means to pursue something else," Cena expressed, further stating that this particular aspect truly angers him.
Cena further elaborated during the press conference on Saturday, clarifying that the potential danger of sustaining injuries is the primary reason why he cannot simultaneously engage in acting and wrestling.
"I've been crystal clear about the impossibility of doing both due to liability insurance," he expressed, elaborating on his decision to depart from the WWE once the SAG-AFTRA strike is resolved. "It would be incredibly self-centered of me to try and juggle both, as it could potentially harm countless individuals in the film industry if something were to happen to me."
Occasionally, these two superstars have managed to seize a few opportunities to return to the wrestling ring. Johnson and Cena clashed at WrestleMania 28 in 2012, and the Rock emerged victorious. Furthermore, Johnson triumphed over Cena at Wrestlemania 29 in 2013, successfully retaining his WWE championship.
Their beef was publicly resolved three years later in 2015, as they joined forces to triumph over Bray Wyatt and Erick Rowan at Wrestlemania 32.
Reflecting upon his extensive feud with the Black Adam star, Cena expresses regrets.
