Jackie Chan and John Cena Unleash Action-Comedy Chaos in Hidden Strike

Hong Kong icon Jackie Chan and WWE wrestler turned actor John Cena have joined forces for the upcoming action-comedy film Hidden Strike, reminiscent of the popular Mad Max franchise. Chan, known for his daring stunts in classic martial arts movies from the '70s and '80s, rose to Hollywood fame with the success of Rush Hour in 1998 alongside Chris Tucker. Despite being 69 years old, Chan remains a global superstar and is still involved in the planning of Rush Hour 4. In the meantime, fans can anticipate the exciting collaboration between Chan and Cena in Hidden Strike, as shown in the newly released trailer.

It's not shocking to witness the intense action sequences in Hidden Strike, and it's equally unsurprising to witness the amusing rapport between Chan and Cena as they engage in high-speed chase scenes reminiscent of Mad Max. However, what's intriguing is that the original plan was for Chan to star alongside Sylvester Stallone, but Stallone had to leave due to his commitments for Creed 2.

Everything We Know About Hidden Strike

Hidden Strike tells the story of two ex-special forces soldiers who are tasked with escorting a group of civilians through Baghdad's infamous "Highway of Death" to safety in the Green Zone. The cast features some big names, including John Cena and Jackie Chan, alongside Pilou Asbæk, who plays the film's primary antagonist. Also joining the cast are Minghao Hou, Amadeus Serafini, Li Ma, and Rachael Holoway.

Scott Waugh, the director of Hidden Strike, has an impressive resume that includes Need for Speed (2014), 6 Below: Miracle on the Mountain (2017), and the upcoming The Expendables 4 (2023). The script for Hidden Strike was penned by Arash Amel, known for his work on A Private War, Rise, and the upcoming Guy Ritchie film The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. With a team of experienced action talent both in front of and behind the camera, the real standout is undoubtedly the film's star, Jackie Chan. As an actor, stunt performer, and filmmaker, Chan's decades of experience make him one of the world's most beloved entertainment icons. The film will also feature John Cena, an action star who is equally skilled at comedy. Hidden Strike is slated for a 2023 release.
