Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard took some time off from their busy schedules and enjoyed a peaceful spa and sushi date on Friday, June 9. The couple, along with their 11-month-old son Freddie, had a great time together. Jill expressed her gratitude towards her friends, Jingervuolo, Jeremy_vuolo, Jerjdeg, and Samantha Degroot, for making the date night possible.
The couple, who tied the knot in 2014 and have two sons together, shared glimpses of their cozy sushi dinner and subsequent pedicure session on social media. This fun Friday night out follows the exciting announcement that their memoir, Counting the Cost, will be hitting shelves earlier than expected.

"We are thrilled to announce that Counting the Cost will now be released on September 12th, 2023, four months earlier than originally planned. This is all thanks to the incredible support and interest from our readers," stated the Dillard Family on their blog. The memoir, co-written by Jill Duggar and Craig Borlase, will share Duggar's personal story and experiences as one of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar's 19 children."
Jill's Instagram post revealed that "Counting the Cost" tells the story of their arduous journey as part of the Duggar family, which was filmed for a reality TV show. The book's cover image symbolizes the hardship they have faced, but also the hope they have found. Their struggles with boundary violations, greed, manipulation, and betrayal are not unique, as many of their readers can relate. However, the added pressure of being on reality TV for over 15 years, shrouded in secrecy and deceit, only fueled their struggles further.
Jill gained notoriety through her family's reality TV series, 19 Kids and Counting, which premiered in 2008 and chronicled the daily life of her large family, who adhered to strict fundamentalist beliefs. In the Prime Video docuseries Shiny Happy People, which Jill co-starred in with her cousin Amy Duggar King, she opened up about her experience growing up in the public eye. The four-part series, which was publicly criticized by Jill's parents Jim Bob and Michelle, delved into the family's struggles following the child molestation allegations and child pornography conviction of Jill's older brother, Josh Duggar, and how it affected the family's image.
In 2015, TLC cancelled 19 Kids and Counting after allegations surfaced that Josh had inappropriately touched several young girls, including some of his sisters, during his teenage years. Jill and her sister Jessa, who were among Josh's victims, then went on to star in the family's spinoff show, Counting On. However, in 2017, Jill and her husband, Dillard, left the show, citing that they were not compensated for their on-camera appearances, as revealed in Shiny Happy People.
