Jessica White recently shared the highs and lows of her five-year relationship with Nick Cannon. In an Instagram post, which has since been deleted, the 38-year-old model addressed Cannon's feelings about her joining the reality series Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta. White expressed her frustration with Cannon being caught off guard, stating that after eight years, she expected more from him as a man. She also hinted that Cannon did not show her the same level of respect in their relationship.
She expressed her desire for their relationship to work, even though it was on and off from 2015 to 2020. White revealed that she prayed every day for Cannon to reciprocate her love and affection. She speculated that perhaps he did love her but kept it hidden during their time together. After their breakup, she was left with more questions than answers and wants everyone to know that their relationship wasn't always smooth sailing. She admitted that she didn't always feel valued or appreciated by Cannon.
White revealed that her insecurities had existed long before she entered into a relationship with the Wild ‘N Out host. She explained that she had never experienced a love that felt safe, even as a child. While admitting that Cannon had contributed to her pain, she acknowledged that her healing needed to go deeper than just their relationship. White expressed regret for unfairly placing the blame on Cannon for her fear of not being loved.
The former Victoria’s Secret model, in January 2021, accused Cannon of keeping his and Brittany Bell's second pregnancy under wraps, which came as a shock to her as she had recently suffered a miscarriage in 2020. White revealed during an interview with Fox Soul’s Hollywood Unlocked with Jason Lee that she found out about Bell's pregnancy through social media, just like everyone else. Furthermore, she alleged that Bell, who shares three children with Cannon, was informed about her miscarriage by the actor. White also disclosed that she had been harassed by Bell's fans, who accused her of being a "homewrecker," and that she had to endure months of bullying.
White shared in her Instagram post that she felt compelled to speak out about her and Cannon's relationship in order to move on from the constant public scrutiny she has faced since her successful fashion career. She acknowledged that both she and Cannon were struggling emotionally as children and did not know how to love each other, resulting in hurt instead.
Cannon's recent admission of still being in love with White has been the talk of the town, with many wondering if the two will rekindle their romance. In a recent post, Zoe Ever After star Brandy Norwood expressed her admiration for White, describing her as a beacon of light who has overcome many obstacles. Many fans have also praised White for her resilience and ability to operate on a higher frequency.
