Taylor Swift has formed some surprising friendships within Hollywood, with actress Jessica Chastain being the latest A-lister to openly join the singer's inner circle. Despite this recent development, Chastain has actually been friends with Swift for many years. "She's really sweet... the best, it's crazy," Chastain, 46, expressed during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Friday, December 15. "I first met her in 2011 at the Met Ball, and we were both sitting next to each other. It was my first year attending the Met Ball, and we had both just released some new movies."
Chastain, who had recently gone through a breakup, recalled discussing the split with Swift. "We went dancing together. It was such a great night," the actress revealed. "The next day, I received an email from iTunes saying 'Taylor Swift.' I thought it was just her new album, but she had actually made me a breakup playlist and sent it to me."
Chastain remembered it to be “the sweetest thing.”

"I initially thought it was a Taylor Swift ad," she continued. "But then I realized, she had put together all these breakup songs specifically to help me get through my breakup."
Years later, Chastain has maintained her connection with Swift and even attended the Eras Tour. "I was in Mexico City when she was touring there in August. I decided to go to Taylor's concert," Chastain said, adding that she brought her assistant along, who is a huge fan of Swift.
Chastain no longer required a breakup playlist this time. She has been happily married to Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo since 2017. On the other hand, Swift's love life has had its share of ups and downs this year, but she's currently feeling very happy.
In April, it was confirmed that Swift and Joe Alwyn had parted ways after being together for six years. Shortly after, the singer briefly dated The 1975 singer Matty Healy in the following month. It was confirmed in June that their casual fling had fizzled out.

In September, the relationship between Swift and NFL star Travis Kelce heated up. Their initial public appearance was at a Kansas City Chiefs game that month, but Swift has since shared that she and Kelce had been keeping their relationship under wraps for a while.
"This all began when Travis charmingly called me out on his podcast, which I thought was incredibly cool," Swift told TIME earlier this month, referring to the July "New Heights" podcast episode when Kelce hinted at wanting to give the singer his number. Swift confirmed the two "started spending time together right after that."
