After nearly dying in a snow plow accident in January, Jeremy Renner is grateful to be walking again.
The star of The Avengers endured 30 fractures on New Year's Day after being crushed near his Nevada residence while attempting to prevent his nephew from being struck by his snow-removal tractor.
“I feel incredibly fortunate and blessed to be able to stand and move freely and to experience life,” Renner, 52, shared with CNN on Monday, October 23. “I have a distinct clarity. My life is now streamlined, if that makes sense. There is no room for unnecessary activities. I simply don't have time for that. Therefore, there is something truly remarkable about possessing this superpower."
After enduring several months of rehabilitation following his two-time Oscar nomination, the actor believes he has gained something valuable from the traumatic experience. Renner expressed, "There were numerous gifts that came as a result of it. Going through physical, emotional, and spiritual trials and eventually overcoming them is truly indescribable."
His vehicle, weighing over 14,000 pounds, ran over him, resulting in multiple injuries, including eight broken ribs. Following the incident, he underwent several surgeries and was eventually discharged from the Renown Regional Medical Center on January 17.

The actor's significant roles in various action films, alongside his involvement in the Avengers franchise, necessitate him to possess immense physical strength and agility. Nonetheless, his recovery from the nearly fatal accident extended beyond mere physical rehabilitation.
"Perseverance. Resilience. It's a battle of the mind. I have now acquired the ability to handle pain," Renner elaborated. "It's all about the mindset. If you can navigate through the confusion, I consider myself truly fortunate."
Renner, currently starring in the TV series Mayor of Kingston, is not just an actor but also a musician. In 2020, he released two EPs and has contributed to various film soundtracks in the past. Although going through his recovery, Renner has a project in the works called Love and Titanium. This project explores the significant moments in his recovery journey since January 1st of this year, as shared by the multi-talented entertainer on Instagram on October 19th. Renner describes Love and Titanium as a painful, deeply healing, and ultimately cathartic creation, and he hopes to gather the courage to share it with all of his fans.
