Jennifer Lopez is set to release her new album, This Is Me ... Now, and is excited that her husband Ben Affleck will be co-writing the accompanying short film. According to an insider, Lopez, 54, couldn't have asked for a better collaborator, as "Nobody knows her better than Ben."
Just like she did with This Is Me … Then, Lopez dedicated her new album to Affleck, who is 51 years old. The couple got married in July 2022, 18 years after calling off their first engagement in early 2004.
According to the source, Lopez is "grateful" to have Affleck supporting her for the film, which is said to be a "visual reimagining of her publicly scrutinized love life" over the years. An insider tells Us that "He helped her feel safe to share parts of her nobody has ever known."
Lopez had not intended to create a movie to go along with the album, but the songs motivated her to produce a unique visual project. "After completing the music, I realized there was more of a story to be told," she revealed to Entertainment Tonight on Tuesday, December 5th, in Los Angeles.

This is not just a love story, it's a much bigger and fuller project with an incredible message. I realized I had to get personal to truly tell it.”
Lopez expressed that her husband is the ideal person to share her real-life journey of love and discovering happiness.
"We have a great collaborative dynamic, and there's no one who understands my story better than him," she explained. "So, we sat down and delved into it in a way that I don't think any other writer could have done with me."
In November 2022, Lopez revealed to Vogue that the album and film would finally set the record straight about her love life.
"People assume they have insight into my past relationships and experiences, but they are often mistaken," she stated. "I've kept a part of myself hidden, but now I feel ready to share my truth." Despite referring to herself as "Mrs. Affleck" in the article, Affleck believes that his wife is the same person he fell in love with back in 2002.
Affleck expressed, "Jennifer has an inherently kind and loving heart that has remained unchanged over the years. She is the kind of person I aspire to be." Lopez recently shared the trailer for This Is Me … Now on Instagram, which delves into the couple's initial relationship from 2002 when they first met on the set of Gigli.
Seated in front of a crackling fire, with rain pouring outside, she gently tosses a letter into the flames. "When I was a little girl, whenever anyone asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, my answer was always ... in love," she reminisces. The handwritten letter, dated December 24, 2002, turns out to be from Affleck. "Life’s tough but you’re sweet," the note reads. "Thanks for the gift. Hope you like the flowers. You told me you could never have enough. I believe you."
