Laura Benanti shared her perspective on her costar Jennifer Lawrence, describing her as someone who is even more fun than fans may perceive. According to Benanti, Lawrence's down-to-earth nature makes it easy to forget that she is a movie star. Benanti emphasized that Lawrence is simply a regular person who possesses qualities such as kindness, intelligence, humor, thoughtfulness, hard work, and engagement.

The role of Allison Becker in the movie is portrayed by a New York native. Alongside her husband, Laird (played by Matthew Broderick), they seek the assistance of Maddie (played by Lawrence) to help their introverted teenage son, Percy (played by Andrew Barth Feldman), come out of his shell before he embarks on his college journey.

Both Benanti and Lawrence, despite playing the roles of mothers of teenagers in the film, actually have children who are much younger. Benanti, who is a Tony winner, has two daughters named Ella (6 years old) and Louisa (11 months old) with her husband Patrick Brown. On the other hand, Lawrence, known for her role in the Hunger Games, recently became a mother to her first child, a son named Cy, with her husband Cooke Maroney in February 2022.

Benanti mentioned that while she doesn't usually give advice, she and Lawrence did share their experiences as parents on set. They discussed both the positive and negative aspects of parenting, such as having tough days or missing their children. Benanti emphasized the importance of solidarity among mothers. She respected Lawrence's privacy and chose not to disclose their private conversations, but did mention that they connected over the joys and challenges of motherhood, as well as their aspirations and differences in parenting.

Benanti playfully suggested that the true essence of the Oscar winner's personality became even more evident during their time on set, particularly when they supposedly had an encounter with ghosts alongside Broderick, who is 61 years old.

After a late-night shoot, Benanti and Broderick opted to stay at a stunningly majestic hotel resembling a castle to ensure they were prepared for their early call time. Benanti recounted the experience to Us, describing the hotel as "utterly chilling" and "teeming with apparitions" amidst the ongoing renovations.

While Broderick remained skeptical about the existence of supernatural entities, Benanti firmly believed that something eerie was transpiring within the hotel. This unsettling night, compounded by the presence of a maintenance worker attending to the floors at 1 a.m., sparked a conversation on the set the following day about haunted residences, which captivated Lawrence's interest.

Benanti recalled that she and Jen were deeply engrossed in the conversation, so much so that they almost missed the instruction to start. However, they quickly composed themselves and continued talking. It was an unexpected and enjoyable twist of events. Now, the movie No Hard Feelings can be seen in theaters.
