Jenna Dewan Shares How Steve Kazee Connected with Her Post Channing Tatum Split

Jenna Dewan is looking back fondly on the way she met her fiancé, Steve Kazee, following her split from ex-husband Channing Tatum.

On Tuesday, March 12, Dewan, 43, shared during Dear Media's "Not Skinny But Not Fat" podcast that Kazee reached out to her by sending a GIF of Steph Curry, the Golden State Warriors basketball star, making a shot and simply said, "Hey." It was through a Twitter direct message. Dewan replied, initially thinking it was a mistake, saying, "I'm sorry, I don't think this is for me."

"He was trying to flirt with me, but I didn't catch on," the Rookie actress said with a chuckle.

Dewan recalled their first meeting over ten years ago when she and her mother watched Kazee, 48, perform in the Broadway show Once. Despite only exchanging a few words backstage, Kazee felt a deep bond.

"It felt like something out of a movie," Dewan shared. "Years later, after my separation became public, we crossed paths again. It turns out, he never forgot that moment either. It's pretty adorable."

Dewan tied the knot with Tatum in 2009, following a three-year courtship that began on the set of Step Up in 2006. The couple revealed their decision to separate in April 2018. Six months later, Dewan initiated divorce proceedings, with their divorce being officially completed in November 2019. Their precious daughter, Everly, who is now 10, is a product of their union.

In October 2018, Dewan and Kazee announced they were dating, and they decided to get married in February 2020.

"It was a whirlwind romance," Dewan shared about Kazee's proposal. "It just felt right, like it was meant to be."

One month after getting engaged, Dewan welcomed their son, Callum. He recently turned 4 on March 6, and Dewan commemorated his birthday with a heartfelt Instagram post.

In the post, Dewan expressed, "Today, our precious little one, who brings so much joy and light into our lives, is turning 4! We are beyond grateful for the gift that you are to us. You brighten up our days every single day! We love you immensely, sweet boy!"

Callum and Everly will soon have another sibling as Dewan and Kazee announced in January they were expecting their second child together.

In a recent interview with Romper, Jenna Dewan shared her thoughts on getting back into shape after giving birth. She mentioned that she's not certain if her body will bounce back as quickly as it did in the past. However, she remains optimistic and believes in the resilience of her body. Jenna, who is a dancer, has a determined mindset that she can overcome any challenges that come her way. She expressed her willingness to embrace whatever changes may occur during her postpartum journey.

"I love being a mom and I want to savor every moment," she shared. "It's something I've always known, but now I truly understand it."

Dewan and Kazee got engaged four years ago, but they are taking their time with wedding plans.

"My family keeps asking, 'When are you guys getting married?' We're working on it, I promise. We have the venue booked, so that's a step forward. But life has been really hectic, with work keeping us busy."
