Jason Sudeikis expressed his gratitude for Taylor Swift spending time in his hometown of Kansas City during her relationship with Travis Kelce. “I was thankful to Taylor, just hanging out, coming to do two nights of [Eras Tour] shows here,” Sudeikis, 48, told The Hollywood Reporter. “All my friends, people with kids, people without kids, just had a blast. And she was like, ‘Oh, it was an amazing run.’ Little did I know, just a few months later, she’d be our adopted daughter.”
Swift, 33, performed at Arrowhead Stadium for two nights in July as part of her Eras Tour, which began in the spring. She returned to the state in September at the invitation of Kelce, 34, to watch his team, the Kansas City Chiefs, defeat the Chicago Bears. Since then, she has been seen in KC multiple times as her relationship with Kelce continues to develop.
Sudeikis, on the other hand, is appreciative of the attention his hometown is receiving and often expresses gratitude to musicians and comedians for choosing to visit Kansas City on their tours instead of larger nearby cities like St. Louis and Chicago. The Ted Lasso actor jokingly remarked that he doesn't "blame" Swift for wanting to spend time in KC, or with Kelce, whom he described as a "good egg."
Swift had plans to fly back to Kansas City on Monday, November 20, to attend Travis' game against older brother Jason Kelce’s Philadelphia Eagles. According to a source, the couple had arranged for their parents to meet at the game, indicating a deepening seriousness in their relationship. "Taylor and Travis both cherish their close relationships with their parents, so it's crucial that their families blend well together," the insider shared with Us earlier this month.
Due to a record-breaking heatwave, Taylor Swift, who is currently on the international leg of her Eras Tour, had to reschedule her Saturday, November 18 concert in Brazil to Monday night, derailing the couple's plans. This photo was taken by Gotham/GC Images.
During her visit to the South American country, Swift was saddened by the tragic news that a fan, Ana Clara Benevides Machado, had passed away after attending her show in Rio de Janeiro on Friday, November 17. The concert organizer, Time for Fun (T4F), confirmed Machado's death, citing the severe weather conditions. In a post on T4F's X webpage, it was mentioned that Ana Clara had fallen ill the night before and was promptly attended to by first responders at the stadium before being transferred to the hospital, where she unfortunately passed away after an hour of emergency care.
Swift shared her condolences on Instagram Story shortly after the show, expressing her shock and sorrow over Machado's passing. "I can’t believe I’m writing these words but it is with a shattered heart that I say we lost a fan earlier tonight before my show. I can’t even tell you how devastated I am by this,” she said. “There’s very little information I have other than the fact that she was so incredibly beautiful and far too young.”

Taylor Swift mentioned that she wouldn't discuss the tragedy due to feeling overwhelmed but still performed her ballad "Bigger Than the Whole Sky" at her concert on Sunday, November 19th, which fans think was dedicated to Machado.
Following Machado's death, a second source informed Us that Swift has been overcome with emotion but is thankful to have Travis as a strong support system. The insider also mentioned that Swift's team has reached out to the fan's family.
