20 years have passed since their unconventional partnership, and there are clear indications of an eagerly awaited comeback for this cherished onscreen mother-daughter duo. Jamie Lee Curtis recently delighted fans by sharing a captivating selfie featuring her "Freaky Friday" co-star Lindsay Lohan on her verified Instagram account. Her accompanying caption subtly suggests that a sequel might be on the horizon in the "near future."
"It's amazing how much you've grown and blossomed!" Curtis exclaimed beside a stunning photo of the delightful duo. "Thank goodness it's Friday and the strike is finally over. Looking forward to possibly swapping roles once more in the upcoming days!" The note concluded with an Oscar-winner's tag to both Lohan and Disney.
Curtis mentioned the 2003 Disney film "Freaky Friday," where a mother and daughter switch bodies, resulting in humorous situations. This movie is actually a remake of a 1976 film, starring Jodie Foster as the daughter and Barbara Harris as the mother, based on Mary Rodgers' novel of the same name published in 1972.

This isnt the first time Curtis has teased a possible sequel to the popular remake.
In February, she posted a similar picture on Instagram featuring herself and Lohan, with the caption "Fingers crossed for something freaky."
During an awards event in the same month, Curtis expressed confidence in the sequel's realization, though she cautiously mentioned that there was no official confirmation yet.
In May, the actress from "Halloween" confirmed that both she and Lohan are willing to participate in the project. During the same period, Hollywood experienced strikes from writers and actors, but it appears that both strikes have now concluded. Consequently, the actors are prepared to reunite for a "Freaky Friday" project.
Lohan, along with her fellow costars Lacey Chabert and Amanda Seyfried, has been actively involved in creating a nostalgic atmosphere reminiscent of her previous popular movie from the early 2000s, "Mean Girls." Their participation includes featuring in brand-new Walmart advertisements specifically designed around the "Mean Girls" theme.
