Jada Pinkett Smith looked stunning at the 2024 Los Angeles LGBT Center Gala, where she wore a black Alaïa gown from her own fashion collection. The event took place on Saturday, May 18. The 52-year-old actress turned heads in the leggy dress she had previously worn over ten years ago. The gown had silver chain straps, cutouts at the waist, and a billowing skirt with a daring thigh-high slit.
Pinkett Smith shared on Instagram that her sister had to dig out the Alaïa dress she wore almost twenty years ago for the event. She first wore the outfit back in 2004 at the Hollywood Film Festival Awards Ceremony.
To enhance the chrome details of the dress, Pinkett Smith accessorized with silver statement earrings and chunky bangles. These pieces beautifully matched her icy buzz cut hairstyle.

At the Saturday ceremony, Pinkett Smith presented Cynthia Erivo with the Rand Schrader Award for her outstanding achievements in entertainment and activism supporting the LGBTQIA+ community.
Erivo looked stunning in a black gown with a leather peplum design as she accepted her award. She highlighted the significance of inclusivity and commended Jon M. Chu, the director of Wicked, for choosing her to play Elphaba in the upcoming movie.

"We are currently living in a time of strong division and disagreement. It seems that many people prefer to see things in a simplistic way, rather than appreciating the complexities that make us human," Erivo expressed. "I find it meaningful that the universe brought Jon M. Chu to direct the ambitious project of Wicked. Standing before you as a Black, bald, pierced, and queer individual, I understand what it means to feel like an outsider."
Elphaba's story is all about a vibrant, strong, magical woman who, despite facing criticism, being seen as a villain, and experiencing discrimination, rises up as a hero. Wicked is a story that challenges and redefines the negative stereotypes imposed on her. It is a declaration of her right to embrace her full power. If this sounds like a story that resonates with you colorful, magical individuals in this room, it's because it should.
