Jada Pinkett Smith has never hesitated to be candid and transparent about her romantic relationships throughout the years. One of her most notable romances is with her husband Will Smith. She tied the knot with him in 1997 and they have two children together: son Jaden, born in 1998, and daughter Willow, born in 2000.

During the course of their relationship, Pinkett Smith and Smith experienced a series of challenges, one of which was Pinkett Smith's involvement with August Alsina, referred to as an "entanglement." In 2020, Pinkett Smith revealed that her connection with Alsina took place during a break in her relationship with Smith in 2015.

Although the couple appeared to have resolved their issues following the scandal, Pinkett Smith, a talk show host, disclosed in 2023 that she and Smith, who is known for his role in "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air," had been separated for a considerable period of time but had not initiated divorce proceedings.

"I believe it was simply a matter of not being prepared," she admitted during an interview with Today in October 2023. "We were still maneuvering our way through the complexities of being in a partnership, you know? And we were trying to navigate how to present ourselves as a couple to the public, but we hadn't quite figured that part out yet."

Jada Pinkett Smith hasn’t shied away from being open and honest about her romances over the years.

Pinkett Smith's most notable romantic relationship was with her husband, Will Smith. They got married in 1997 and had two children together: son Jaden in 1998 and daughter Willow in 2000.

During their relationship, Pinkett Smith and Smith experienced various ups and downs, including her involvement with August Alsina, which she referred to as an "entanglement." In 2020, Pinkett Smith revealed that her relationship with Alsina happened during a break she took from her marriage to Smith in 2015.

Smith and Pinkett Smith appeared to have resolved their issues post-scandal. However, in a 2023 interview with Today, the talk show host revealed that they had actually been separated for a significant period of time but had not taken steps towards divorce. She acknowledged that they weren't quite ready yet and were still navigating the dynamics of their partnership, particularly in terms of how to portray their relationship to the public. Clarifying this aspect had yet to be determined.

Pinkett Smith revealed on a 2018 episode of Red Table Talk that her first holiday boyfriend was the former basketball player. Their relationship blossomed in the '90s when Hill was part of the Detroit Pistons and Pinkett Smith was involved in the TV series A Different World.

Tupac Shakur

Despite speculation that Shakur and Pinkett Smith had a romantic relationship, they were, in fact, incredibly close friends. During the 1990s, Pinkett Smith made appearances in several of the rapper's music videos, such as "Keep Ya Head Up" and "Temptations."

When Shakur faced accusations of sexual abuse in 1995, Pinkett Smith provided him with a $100,000 bond. In a 2003 documentary entitled Tupac: Resurrection, Pinkett Smith candidly spoke about her deep bond with the late rapper, who held a special place as one of her closest friends.

“He was like a brother. It was beyond friendship for us,” she recalled. “The type of relationship we had, you only get that once in a lifetime.”

Will Smith

Smith and Pinkett Smith got married in 1997, but their relationship started in 1994 when Smith was still married to his ex-wife, Sheree Zampino. The actor shares a son, Trey, with Zampino, who was born in 1992. Almost two decades later, Pinkett Smith admitted that she regretted getting involved with Smith before his divorce was finalized.

"I didn't fully comprehend the depths of marriage and divorce at that time," she confessed during the debut episode of Red Table Talk in 2018, in which Zampino appeared as a guest. "In hindsight, I probably should have taken a step back."

Despite appearing as one of Hollywood's most formidable couples, Smith and Pinkett Smith encountered various challenges in their relationship. They openly admitted to briefly separating in 2015, during which time Pinkett Smith pursued a romance with Alsina due to the lack of communication between them. However, they eventually reconciled.

In 2022, Smith and Pinkett Smith attended the Oscars, where Smith infamously slapped Chris Rock in response to a joke about his wife's shaved head. Although Smith later apologized to the comedian, he faced severe consequences. He was banned from all Oscars events for 10 years and chose to resign from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

Pinkett Smith disclosed in October 2023 that she and Smith had separated in 2016 but opted not to pursue a divorce because they still hold onto hope for their relationship. In an interview with Today, she stated, "I have made a commitment that divorce will never be an option for us. We are determined to overcome any challenges and I have yet to break that vow." They currently reside in separate locations.

In July 2020, Alsina stated that he and Pinkett Smith were in a romantic relationship and that her husband was aware of it. Initially, Pinkett Smith denied Alsina's claims, but she later admitted on her talk show that she had an "entanglement" with the musician while she and Smith were on a break.
