Jackie Chan is turning 70 and he wanted to share some good news about his health with his fans.
In a recent Instagram post on Sunday, April 7, Chan addressed concerns about his health that arose after fans saw some photos of him on the internet. He reassured everyone that there is no need to worry, as his recent appearance with white hair and beard was just for a character in his latest movie.
Chan didn't say why he had to make his hair gray for a project, but he will be playing Mr. Han again in the upcoming Karate Kid movie in December. There are rumors about a possible Rush Hour 4 movie too.
Even after over sixty years in the film industry, Chan shared that he is still thrilled to take on different roles in movies, both old and new.
Throughout my 62 years in the entertainment industry, I have always been open to taking on new challenges and trying out different things for a movie. Whether it's a daring stunt or a unique role for a character, I embrace the opportunity to push myself and explore new horizons in my career.
As I recently celebrated a milestone birthday that I wasn't sure I would reach, I couldn't help but joke about the idea of turning 70 years old. Despite the light-hearted banter, I am truly grateful for the chance to continue doing what I love - acting. Each moment on set is a precious gift, and I feel fortunate to still be filming today.
Chan reflected on a saying from his big brother, Sammo Hung: "Being able to grow old is a fortunate thing." He emphasized the importance, especially for stunt people like them, to appreciate the gift of aging.
To celebrate his birthday, Chan and his team sifted through old photo archives and discovered some memorable pictures from his career.
The People's Choice Awards winner recently celebrated Chinese New Year in February by sharing well wishes for good health, good luck, and prosperity in 2024. Looking at images from the festivities brought back many fond memories for him.
In his latest message, he expressed his love for making movies and gratitude for all the birthday wishes he received. He also thanked everyone for their support and wished for happiness and good health for all.
