Love Is Blind alum Izzy Zapata was so sure of his relationship with now-ex Stacy Snyder that he took steps to improve his finances before their wedding day.

Stacy's concern before the wedding prompted Izzy, 32, to immediately seek the help of a financial advisor, as revealed on the "Viall Files" podcast episode aired on Thursday, October 19. Izzy saw it as another challenge that needed to be overcome.

Izzy and Stacy, 34, found love in the pods on Love Is Blind season 5, which featured singles from the Houston area. Despite getting engaged without meeting face-to-face, their relationship encountered difficulties due to discussions about their financial situations. Stacy had reservations about Izzy's low credit score.

"She even went to the extent of having a jacket custom-made with my last name. It was a clear sign of her excitement. However, things took a turn when the topic of finances came up, and she felt utterly caught off guard," he shared during the podcast.

Izzy went on to allege that Stacy had uttered the words, "Oh, my God, I feel like I can't trust you," before their wedding ceremony. According to Izzy, they had this discussion towards the end of the filming process due to his busy work schedule, as he didn't perceive it as a conversation that could be resolved in just five minutes.

“We discussed the situation and she expressed her discomfort with what I had told her,” he shared with host Nick Viall. "I mentioned that I had no debt and my student loans were paid off, and I informed her that I was on a 1099 tax form due to my switch to the insurance field at that time. She was surprised and asked, 'You're on a 1099 instead of a W-2?'"

Izzy claimed that Stacy was apprehensive about the lack of stability that comes with a 1099, which is commonly used by consultants because it doesn't provide benefits. "That really caught me off guard," he admitted. "I didn't realize it would be a concern... I also disclosed that I have poor credit due to my irresponsible use of credit cards when I was 18 or 19."

Izzy, whose credit score has now improved to 580, also disclosed that he had made every effort to salvage their relationship, but he eventually realized the inevitable outcome prior to being rejected at the altar.

"She informed me about her decision just two days prior to the wedding," he confided in Nick, who was 43 at the time. "During our financial conversation, I started realizing that things were not looking promising. A couple of days later, while we were lying in bed, everything seemed great and we were laughing together. However, it unexpectedly led to her confessing, 'Oh, I can't say yes.' I was utterly shocked by her words. She explained that she didn't feel ready to marry me at this stage; it was too soon for her. I was devastated."

Following the cancellation of their wedding, the couple from the popular Netflix series decided to take a week-long break without any communication in order to process their emotions. Eventually, they made the difficult choice to end their relationship permanently. Both of them eventually found new love interests. Interestingly, Izzy coincidentally bumped into Stacy and her new boyfriend during his first date with his current partner, even though their relationship hasn't been officially confirmed yet. They even went to the extent of getting matching tattoos.
