Aniplex revealed a promotional video on December 10, 2023, confirming the premiere of Demon Slayer season 4 in Spring 2024. The new season will feature the Hashira Training arc, kicking off with a special one-hour-long episode.
Fans can look forward to the return of their favorite Hashiras in Demon Slayer season 4, as they train Tanjiro and his friends. There is also curiosity among fans about whether the three strongest Upper Moons, especially Upper Moon One, Kokushibo, will appear in this season.

Kokushibo's brief appearance in Demon Slayer season 3 made a huge impact, leaving fans eager to see more of him. His aura, fitting of an Upper Moon One, even caused Akaza to visibly sweat in response to his presence. However, with season 4 set to adapt the Hashira Training arc from the manga, the likelihood of Kokushibo returning seems low, as the focus will primarily be on Tanjiro's training with the Stone Hashira, Himejima.
Tanjiro is pushed to his limits and grows stronger through rigorous training with the powerful Hashira. At the same time, Muzan's relentless search for Nezuko and Ubuyashiki, as well as the introduction of the new Upper Rank 4, Nakime, add to the intensity of the arc.
Therefore, it is unlikely that Kokushibo will appear in the early episodes of season 4. However, once the Hashira Training arc concludes, the next arc will be the Infinity Castle arc, where Kokushibo will finally take center stage. In this arc, Kokushibo will face off against several Hashiras, including Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito, Wind Hashira Sanemi, and Stone Hashira Himejima. Genya Shinazugawa will also play a crucial role in the battle, as their combined efforts will ultimately bring an end to the era of terror.
Exciting new details about Demon Slayer season 4
While it's unlikely that fans will see Kokushibo at the beginning of Demon Slayer season 4, there are plenty of other exciting details for fans to enjoy. Aniplex's latest promotional reel gives an overview of past events before diving into the Hashira Training arc. In addition, the reel introduces all the Hashiras set to appear in this new arc, including Tengen Uzui, Shinobu Kocho, Muichiro Tokito, Mitsuri Kanroji, Obanai Iguro, Sanemi Shinazugawa, Gyomei Himejima, and Giyu Tomioka.
Nezuko is seen gazing at the sun through the window in the new footage, marking a powerful callback to her victory over sunlight in the previous season. The reel also confirms that Demon Slayer season 4 will premiere in Spring 2024 on Fuji Television nationwide.
The trailer confirms that the movie "Demon Slayer: To The Hashira Training" will be released in 4K and IMAX screens on February 23, 2024, along with a new key visual. It will feature Episode 11 of Demon Slayer Season 3 and Episode 1 of the Hashira Training Arc anime. Similar to the "Demon Slayer: To the Swordsmith Village" movie, this one will also have a global release, starting on February 2, 2024, with a "World Tour" across 140 countries. This news promises an exciting upcoming period for fans of Demon Slayer worldwide.
