Investigation into Sex Trafficking Links at Properties Connected to Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, Reports Law Enforcement

Law enforcement officials conducted search warrant activities at properties linked to music icon Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs in connection to an ongoing sex trafficking investigation. The investigation, as per a reliable source, did not disclose if Combs was the primary focus due to the investigation's sensitivity.

Law enforcement sources revealed that the search warrant activity conducted at the residences of musician and producer Sean “Diddy” Combs on Monday is linked to an ongoing sex trafficking investigation. However, the specific target of the investigation was not disclosed due to its sensitive nature.

In response to reports of raids at Combs' homes, the Department of Homeland Security Investigations New York confirmed that they had carried out law enforcement actions as part of the ongoing investigation. On Monday, law enforcement officials were observed at two of Combs' residences - one in the Miami area and another in Los Angeles, as reported by CNN journalists at the scene.

HSI New York, with assistance from HSI Los Angeles, HSI Miami, and local law enforcement, took action. The law enforcement department mentioned they will share more details as they get them.

HSI, the main investigative unit of the US Department of Homeland Security, focuses on investigating transnational crime and threats, such as human trafficking.

An HSI Miami representative informed CNN's Carlos Suarez that the law enforcement action was a "search warrant execution."

It remains uncertain whether Combs or other residents are the focus of the law enforcement actions. CNN has contacted representatives for Combs to request a comment.

Aerial footage of Combs' home in Los Angeles captured several armed law enforcement officers patrolling the property. In addition to this, mobile command post vehicles were spotted at both his Los Angeles and Miami residences. Agents were seen organizing paperwork on card tables at the Miami location. Due to the large size of the properties, it may take some time to thoroughly search and gather evidence.

Combs, 54, established the music label Bad Boy in 1993 and is known by the stage names Puff Daddy and Diddy. He is recognized for his significant contributions to the growth of the hip-hop genre, winning three Grammys and receiving 14 nominations throughout his career. In addition to his success in music, Combs has also made a name for himself as a producer and entrepreneur.

It is unclear whether Monday's law enforcement action is connected, but it comes after a period of controversy for Combs in recent months.

In November 2023, Combs reached a resolution in a legal case with his ex-girlfriend, singer Cassie Ventura. She accused him of rape and enduring years of ongoing physical and emotional mistreatment by Combs.

Ben Brafman, a lawyer representing Combs, stated in 2023 that settling a lawsuit does not mean admitting any wrongdoing. He emphasized that Combs' decision to settle does not change his denial of the claims made against him. Brafman mentioned that Combs is pleased with reaching a mutual agreement and wishes the best for Ms. Ventura.

Following this, additional civil lawsuits were filed against Combs in New York, accusing him of sexual assault. One of the lawsuits, filed in federal court in December, also included allegations of sex trafficking.

"I have witnessed people trying to ruin my reputation and legacy," Combs stated in reaction to the lawsuit from December. "False accusations have been made against me by individuals seeking money quickly. I want to make it clear: I am not guilty of the terrible things being said. I will defend my name, my family, and the truth."

Another civil lawsuit was filed last month by a former male employee accusing Combs of sexual assault and harassment. Combs, represented by his attorney, refuted these allegations.

This is a developing story and will continue to be updated.
