Billie Eilish and Finneas' father has found a purpose on tour by becoming a part of their crew. During a recent episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live on October 10th, Eilish, who is 21, and her 26-year-old brother Finneas, shared their experiences of having their parents accompany them during their travels.
Eilish stated that she invites her parents to be present solely as her parents, expressing her fondness for them and desire to enjoy their company. Finneas, who contributes to Eilish's songwriting and production, provided more details, mentioning that their father eagerly yearns to be helpful and has taken on the role of a set carpenter during their tour, diligently constructing the stage on a daily basis.
Eilish commended her father, Patrick O'Connell, for his tireless efforts on stage, which encompass tasks like constructing small staircases and meticulously cleaning the floor. "He arrives at 3 a.m. and works tirelessly until 11 a.m., with only a few hours of rest before returning at 6 p.m. to oversee the changeover."
Adding to this, she remarked, "It's absolutely astonishing. He purposely keeps his full name a secret from the crew to avoid drawing attention to his connection with me."
Kimmel, who is 55 years old, went on to inquire whether their mother, Maggie Baird, accompanies their father to the crew's hotel. With a chuckle, Eilish responded to the host, "Nope. My mom is actually staying with me."

Elsewhere in the interview, Kimmel questioned if the siblings always get along while touring together.
"What do you think?" Eilish asked playfully, her laughter filling the air. "The amazing thing is that even when we clash and have explosive disagreements, being siblings makes it impossible to truly separate, or at least we don't want to."
Adding on, Finneas continued, "When both of us strongly disagree, usually one of us refuses to give up. One person clings onto their stance while the other eventually sees reason and lets go. There's always one person who comes to their senses."
On "What Was I Made For," a song featured in Barbie, there was a verse that was deemed "terrible" and eventually discarded. Initially, there was disagreement regarding the quality of the verse, but Finneas later acknowledged that it was undeniably "bad."
Despite this song being a commissioned project for the duo, Eilish enthusiastically expressed, "It actually captured my true emotions perfectly." She further stated, "Both of us genuinely admire our creations. I have a profound love for my music."
The siblings have collaborated since the beginning and achieved their first breakthrough in 2015 with the release of "Ocean Eyes," performed by Eilish and written by Finneas. Eilish, at the age of 18 in 2020, made history as the youngest recipient of the Grammy for Album of the Year for her album "When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?"
Throughout their career, they have embarked on six headline tours and secured a grand total of seven Grammy awards.
