With Saturday's The Big Bang event, Epic and Lego unveiled the much-anticipated Lego Fortnite, a new open-world survival crafting game within Fortnite. Even if you're not a fan of Legos or the new mode, there's still something for you: By linking a free Lego Insider account with your Epic account, you'll receive a free Lego-themed skin for Battle Royale.
Both versions of the free Explorer Emlie skinThe Explorer Emilie skin comes with a regular version that can be used in battle royale or any of the existing Creative modes, as well as a Lego version for Lego Fortnite. This means that even new players can quickly obtain a skin without spending any money. Currently, there are two free Fortnite skins available, in addition to the Runway Racer outfit that can be earned by reaching 50 account levels before the end of the year.
The Explorer Emilie skin will become available when Lego Fortnite launches on December 7. While you can't access the skin just yet, you can take the necessary steps to obtain her so that she will be ready in your locker as soon as she becomes available. Explorer Emilie is just one of the many Fortnite skins that will have both a standard and a Lego version, with over 1200 existing skins set to be included in Lego Fortnite.
Chapter 5 of Fortnite is set to bring significant expansion, with Lego Fortnite being just one aspect of this. In addition to the usual battle royale and Creative modes, Chapter 5 will also include Rocket Racing, an arcade-style racing game from Psyonix, the creators of Rocket League, and Fortnite Festival, a rhythm game from the creators of Guitar Hero and Rock Band, Harmonix.
The main draw for now is still the battle royale, which is paving the way into Chapter 5 with a new island showcasing a first for Fortnite: a moving train that players can ride around the map. Additionally, the battle pass for season 1 is quite impressive, featuring collaborations with Family Guy and Metal Gear Solid, and offering a strong lineup of skins.

As a Fortnite fan, I am thrilled about the release of Chapter 5 and the exciting collaboration with Lego. The Lego-inspired skin is a fantastic addition to the game, and I can't wait to unlock it and show it off to my friends. I appreciate that Epic Games is giving players the opportunity to earn this skin for free, making it accessible to everyone.
The fact that over 1200 existing skins will have both a standard and a Lego version is also very exciting. It shows that Epic Games is committed to providing players with a wide variety of customization options, and it will be fun to see how the different skins are reimagined in Lego form. Overall, I think the Lego collaboration is a great move for Fortnite, and I can't wait to see what other surprises Chapter 5 has in store.
