How to Breed Carrier Birds in Lord of the Rings: Gollum

In The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, Chapter 3 kicks off with a task for players to search for and utilize five Feeders before Gollum can return to his cell. Once the cutscene ends, the weakling Gollum will head to the Candle Man's Chambers, where he will meet and engage in conversation with the Candle Man and become his devoted servant.

In the subsequent part of the game, Gollum will need to follow the Tower Guard to the Bird Tower, where the Candle Man will permit him to breed a carrier bird. However, the process of creating the bird may be a bit perplexing as the directions provided by the Candle Man are quite vague.

Players should first head to the far side of the room and locate a small blue egg in front of a birdcage before adding any logs to the oven. After picking up the egg, they should turn left towards the cauldron and the three bird-shaped flasks and choose the "Look" option to familiarize themselves with how the Mormak station operates.

Pouring the contents of a flask into the cauldron will activate it. Depending on the color of the liquid, the cauldron will fill up with black, brown, or white liquid. There are three unique birds that can be created with this station, and hints on how to create them can be discovered throughout the room.

Opposite the cauldron lies a nest where the egg must be placed for it to hatch. It is important to note that the egg should only be positioned inside this specific nest once Gollum has transferred it into the cauldron and altered its hue.

To breed a carrier bird, players need to first familiarize themselves with the room layout and the function of each station. The instructions on how to breed a black carrier bird can be found by jumping over the cages behind the small birdcage across from the oven and turning left. On the platform above the instructions, players can also collect a Feather. Once ready to begin breeding, follow these steps: Pour black liquid into the cauldron, place the blue egg inside and return it to the nest across from the cauldron. Add two logs to the oven, use the hand-bellows three times, and pull the lever in front of the nest. This will successfully breed a carrier bird.

Pour white liquid into the cauldron, place the egg inside, and then remove the egg. Next, place the egg in the nest located across from the cauldron. Add four logs to the oven and use the hand-bellows twice. Finally, pull the lever located next to the nest to breed the white carrier bird. Instructions for this process can be found on the wall to the right of the oven.
