Homelander Actor Antony Starr Redirects Fan Questions to CoD, Expresses Fatigue Over MK1 DLC Inquiries

Antony Starr, exhausted by constant inquiries about voicing Homelander in MK1, urges gamers to opt for a thrilling alternative and play CoD instead

The future of MK1 will see Homelander's appearance, but not his actor Antony Starr, who has grown weary of questions about his involvement in the game. Instead, Starr is encouraging everyone to play CoD.

Mortal Kombat 1 marked a pivotal moment for the franchise, revisiting its brutal story with a shift back in time. Its arrival was met with widespread acclaim and rave reviews.

NetherRealm Studios created a buzz with the announcement of additional characters joining the MK1 roster. Among these big names were Omni-Man, Peacemaker, and Homelander, with the first two characters featuring their respective actors.

Unfortunately, Antony Starr will not be reprising his role as Homelander, and has grown weary of being asked about his participation in MK1.

Starr tells gamers to play CoD instead of MK1

Homelander, portrayed by Antony Starr in Prime Videos’ The Boys, has been a standout character from the comic book adaptation. His stellar performance has even led to an appearance in Call of Duty as part of a special crossover event with the show.

He voices his in-game character in CoD, leading fans to eagerly anticipate his portrayal in MK1. However, he clarified that he does not voice Homelander in MK1, prompting more questions. Instead of turning people away, he now encourages them to play CoD where he did voice Homelander.

He is clearly accustomed to being asked this question frequently based on his response. Fans were quick to notice and some even commented, "He’s Homelander in real life," implying that Starr always seems to embody the character, regardless of the situation. Homelander is expected to make his debut in Spring 2024 as part of MK1's Kombat Pack 1. Since there is still plenty of time until then, it is possible that Starr is simply denying his involvement for fun.

Editor's P/S

As an enthusiastic fan of both Mortal Kombat and The Boys, I am thrilled about the upcoming release of Homelander as a playable character in MK1. However, I am disappointed to hear that Antony Starr, the actor who portrays Homelander in the TV show, will not be voicing the character in the game. I understand that Starr is exhausted by constant inquiries about his involvement in MK1, and I respect his decision to redirect fans to play CoD instead.

Despite my disappointment, I am still excited to see Homelander make his debut in MK1. I believe that the character's unique abilities and personality will make him a fun and challenging addition to the game's roster. I am also confident that the developers at NetherRealm Studios will do an excellent job of capturing Homelander's essence, even without Starr's voice acting.

In the meantime, I will be patiently waiting for Homelander's release in MK1 while enjoying the game's other characters and content. I will also be keeping an eye on CoD, as I am curious to see how Starr's portrayal of Homelander compares to his performance in MK1.
