Rihanna finds Vanderpump Rules to be the ideal choice for unwinding after a tiring day. She openly confessed her obsession with the show during the coronavirus pandemic. "I've always been open about my love for reality TV and during lockdown, I've been rewatching Vanderpump Rules," Rihanna shared in an interview with Women's Health UK in February 2021. "I simply can't get enough of it. ... Watching reality TV allows me to relax on my couch and disconnect from everything that's happening," she added. "It's my guilty pleasure and a way to escape reality."

Reality TV star Kyle Richards confirmed Rihanna's affinity for reality shows when she shared an anecdote about her daughter's encounter with the Fenty Beauty founder. In June 2018, Richards revealed that her daughter was at a karaoke venue when a commotion ensued as Rihanna and her entourage entered. Caught off guard, Richards' daughter felt a tap on her shoulder and turned around to find Rihanna herself.
