Hollywood makeup artist Allie Shehorn was brutally attacked by her ex-boyfriend, who has now been charged for the crime. Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón revealed in a press release on Wednesday, May 29, that actor Nick Pasqual faces charges of attempted murder, first-degree residential burglary with the victim present, and causing harm to a spouse, partner, or family member.
In a statement, Gascón expressed his thoughts and sympathies for the victim in the terrible incident. He mentioned that their office, including the Bureau of Victim Services, is ready to provide support and resources to help her through the challenging journey of recovery from the physical and emotional trauma she experienced. This incident serves as a harsh reminder of the dangers of domestic violence, and they are committed to ensuring that the person responsible for this horrible act faces consequences.
On Thursday, May 23, Shehorn, who is 35 years old, was the victim of a violent attack in her home in the Sunland neighborhood of Los Angeles.
Pasqual reportedly ran away after the attack and was captured in Sierra Blanca, Texas, according to Gascón’s office. He will be brought back to Los Angeles County to stand trial. If found guilty, he could face a life sentence in prison. A warrant was issued for his arrest with a bail amount set at $1,075,000.
To help cover her medical expenses, Shehorn’s friends set up a GoFundMe page. She had just taken out a restraining order against Pasqual.
"Allie is truly an extraordinary individual, radiating warmth, kindness, and love. It is heartbreaking to think that someone as compassionate and caring as Allie had to go through such a traumatic experience," states the GoFundMe page.
Shehorn was discovered by a woman named Christine White, who is affectionately referred to as an "adopted mom" on the fundraising page. Christine is known to have a deep concern and care for Allie.
White expressed her shock and disbelief to KTLA after the attack, stating, "This is not the kind of thing that should happen to anybody. You don’t think this is ever going to happen to you." She recounted the difficult moment of finding the victim and having to enter the bedroom where the incident took place, describing it as a distressing sight.
Emily MacDonald, one of the organizers of the GoFundMe page, shared that Shehorn is doing well despite her injuries. "She's been in really good spirits. I feel like she's comforting all of us, which is kind of how Allie is. Even when she's at rock bottom, she's still looking to see how she can lift other people up," MacDonald said.
In an update on Tuesday, May 28, Jed Dornoff, a fellow GoFundMe organizer, revealed that Shehorn has been transferred out of the intensive care unit.
Dornoff mentioned that despite the challenges, Shehorn remains steadfast in her determination to overcome this obstacle and is bravely working through the pain to recover.

This horrific attack is a stark reminder of the devastating impact domestic violence can have on its victims. The charges against Nick Pasqual, including attempted murder and first-degree residential burglary, reflect the severity of his actions. The fact that Shehorn had just obtained a restraining order against him underscores the urgent need for victims to seek protection and support.
Shehorn's resilience in the face of such trauma is inspiring. Her friends and loved ones have rallied around her, providing emotional and financial support through a GoFundMe page. Their unwavering care is a testament to her positive impact on those around her. It is important that Shehorn receives the necessary resources and assistance to heal from her physical and emotional wounds. The prosecution of Pasqual should send a clear message that domestic violence will not be tolerated and that perpetrators will be held accountable for their actions.
