A well-known actor recognized for his performances in popular films like “Mean Girls,” “Rebel Moon,” and “Babylon” has been taken into custody and charged with attempted murder after reportedly stabbing his estranged partner multiple times. The shocking incident has sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry.

An actor known for his roles in "Rebel Moon" and "How I Met Your Mother" has been arrested for stabbing his estranged girlfriend multiple times.

Nick Pasqual, aged 34, is facing charges of attempted murder, first-degree residential burglary with a person present, and injuring a spouse, cohabitant, fiancé, boyfriend, girlfriend, or child's parent, as stated by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

He allegedly stabbed his ex-girlfriend at her home in Sunland, Los Angeles on May 23.

CNN has contacted Pasqual's representative for a comment. It is unclear at this time whether he has hired a lawyer for his defense.

District Attorney George Gascón expressed his sympathy for the victim in a recent statement, calling the incident horrific. He assured that his office, including the Bureau of Victim Services, is ready to provide support and resources to help the victim heal from both physical and emotional trauma. Gascón emphasized the importance of addressing domestic violence, stating that the perpetrator will be held accountable for their actions.

According to a news release from Gascón’s office, Pasqual unlawfully entered the home of his estranged girlfriend, who had sought a restraining order against him.

The victim of the incident, a 35-year-old Hollywood makeup artist, was not named by the district attorney's office, as reported by CNN affiliate KABC. A verified GoFundMe account has been set up to assist with her medical costs.

According to a statement from the organizers on the fundraising page, the victim is described as a wonderful individual, known for her warmth, kindness, and love. The statement emphasizes that nobody should have to go through such a traumatic event.

According to the news release, Pasqual reportedly ran away from the scene and was later stopped at a checkpoint in Sierra Blanca, Texas. He is expected to be sent back to Los Angeles County, where he could potentially receive a life sentence in state prison if found guilty.
