Hoda Kotb recently talked about her ex-fiancé Joel Schiffman, two years after they broke up. In a recent episode of Today With Hoda & Jenna, Kotb, who is 59 years old, mentioned that she has always been with people who are very polite. For example, she shared that Joel always stood up from the table every time she did, even during a regular dinner.

Jenna Bush Hager, who cohosts the show with Kotb, pointed out that Kotb may have witnessed her own father treating her mother in a similar way. This could be why she believes that this behavior is what she should expect from a partner.

Kotb agreed, saying that it is what she feels she deserves and expects. She also mentioned that it sets an example for children on how two people should treat each other, rather than focusing on material things like, 'Get me this.'

During a conversation with Bush Hager, Kotb, 42, shared a funny story about accidentally wearing her partner's clothes. She recalled a time when Schiffman, 66, noticed that she had put on his sneakers, thinking they were hers because they looked exactly the same, except for the size. When Schiffman asked about his missing sneakers, Kotb innocently replied that she didn't know where they were, even though she was wearing them.

Kotb confessed to borrowing his sneakers because they "fit" her feet. She jokingly expressed her surprise and sadness when she realized they belonged to him.

Kotb revealed on an episode of Today With Hoda & Jenna in January 2022 that she and Schiffman had decided to end their engagement. The couple, who had been in a relationship for eight years, have two daughters named Haley, 7, and Hope, 4.

Kotb shared that after some heartfelt conversations, she and Joel agreed that they are better off as friends and co-parents than as an engaged couple. They have decided to start the new year focusing on their roles as loving parents to their children and as friends.

Recently, Kotb mentioned on The Kelly Clarkson Show that she is ready to give dating another try.

Kotb playfully revealed that something exciting occurred recently after two years. She hinted, "I had a date! I had a date."

She chose to keep details about her new romantic interest private but mentioned to Entertainment Tonight that Bush Hager set her up. Later, she was seen in New York City with the mystery man, as shown in photos from Page Six.
