Billie Eilish recently shared her thoughts on three-hour-long concerts, and she's not the only one who finds them overwhelming.

In a Stationhead app Q&A earlier this month, the 22-year-old pop star made headlines for describing long concerts as "psychotic." She expressed that neither she nor her fans are interested in enduring a three-hour show. Eilish emphasized that even as a fan, she wouldn't want to listen to her favorite artist for such an extended period.

Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager discussed Billie Eilish's criticisms on the Today show. Kotb agreed with Eilish, mentioning that a three-hour concert can feel like a long time because the best songs are usually saved for the end.

Bush Hager also agreed, saying that three hours is a long time for any activity. However, she joked that she and Kotb could happily spend that much time reading on the beach or enjoying a nature walk.

Many fans saw Eilish's remarks as a subtle criticism of Taylor Swift's The Eras Tour, where she performs songs from all of her 11 studio albums in a show that lasts almost three hours.

Kotb and Bush Hager, both big fans of Taylor Swift, attended The Eras Tour last year with their loved ones and raved about the experience. Bush Hager even mentioned feeling "sore" after the concert, but she also praised Swift, who is 34 years old, for her incredible energy and endurance.

The TV personality mentioned on Tuesday that she was amazed by Taylor's abilities. She stated, "I'm not even Taylor, I didn't do anything, and I was like, 'How does she do this?'" Reflecting on Taylor's work, she added, "When you think about what she does, it is amazing."

Taylor Swift has recently added songs from her latest album, The Tortured Poets Department, to her Eras Tour show. The album, released last month, surpassed Eilish's new record, Hit Me Hard and Soft, to claim the No. 1 spot on Billboard's 200 albums chart. According to Billboard, TTPD is the first album since Morgan Wallen's One Thing at a Time in 2023 to spend five weeks at the top of the chart.

Ahead of Eilish’s latest album release, she expressed her concerns about music artists releasing multiple vinyl versions of their albums in an interview with Billboard in March. She mentioned that she finds it wasteful and frustrating that artists prioritize numbers and profits over other aspects.

Some fans, known as Swifties, were upset by Eilish's comments and defended the Grammy winner for releasing various vinyl editions of her album. Eilish later clarified her stance on the issue through her Instagram Story, stating that she was not targeting any specific artists but addressing broader industry-wide problems.

She added, "Many artists, myself included, release variants as mentioned in the article. The climate crisis is a present issue that we all need to address and strive to improve."

Billie Eilish's remarks on lengthy concerts have sparked a debate about the optimal duration of live performances. While Eilish finds three-hour-long shows excessive, others, like Jenna Bush Hager and Hoda Kotb, appreciate the extended experience, especially for artists like Taylor Swift who perform extensive discographies. The discussion highlights the subjective nature of concert preferences and the importance of catering to diverse audience expectations.

Eilish's concerns about sustainability echo a growing trend among artists who question the environmental impact of multiple vinyl releases. While fans may value collectible editions, the industry must balance commercial success with environmental responsibility. Eilish's candid comments underscore the need for dialogue and collaboration to find sustainable solutions that prioritize both artistic expression and the well-being of our planet.
