Konosuba season 3 has officially shared its first main trailer for the upcoming season, and it's set to debut in April 2024. Along with the exciting sneak peek, the series has also unveiled three new additions to its Japanese voice cast.
While the first two seasons were animated by Studio Deen, season 3 has switched to Studio Drive. This studio previously worked on the Konosuba: An Explosion on This Wonderful World! spinoff series that premiered earlier this year. In addition, the 2019 Konosuba movie was animated by Studio J.C. Staff.
Konosuba season 3 slated for an April 2024 release date along with a new trailer
Konosuba: God's Blessing on This Wonderful World! has been officially confirmed for a third season set to release in April 2024. Studio Drive is animating the upcoming season, with Yujiro Abe directing and Makoto Uezu overseeing the series composition. Masato Koda will be composing the music, and Koichi Kikuta is responsible for character design.
The official website for Konosuba season 3 has also launched its first main trailer, offering a glimpse of the upcoming season and its characters. The main voice cast will be returning for the third season, along with three new cast members: Kanon Takao as Iris, Sayuri Yahagi as Claire, and Reina Ueda as Rain.
Konosuba season 3 has been announced to be streaming on Crunchyroll and the plot is described by the streaming channel as:
"Following a traffic accident, Kazuma Sato's tragically short life was meant to come to an end, but instead he finds himself face to face with a stunningly beautiful girl. She introduces herself as Aqua, a goddess, and offers him the chance to travel to another world, bringing only one possession with him."
Kazuma decides to bring the goddess herself, and they are transported to a fantasy world filled with adventure, ruled by a demon king. Kazuma only wants to live in peace, but Aqua is determined to solve many of the world's problems, and the demon king will only turn a blind eye for so long.
The anime adaptation of Konosuba: God's Blessing on This Wonderful World! is based on Natsume Akatsuki's original light novel series, which spans 17 volumes. The first two seasons of the Konosuba anime, released in 2016 and 2017, were animated by Studio Deen.
With the first two seasons and the movie already covering the first 5 volumes of the light novel series, it is anticipated that Konosuba season 3 will adapt volumes 6 and 7. The exact episode count is currently unknown, but given that the first two seasons consisted of 10 episodes each, it is reasonable to expect a similar episode count for the third season.
Fans can tune in to follow Kazuma Sato and his friends on their adventures in the latest season of Konosuba when it releases in April 2024.
Editor's P/S
As a Gen Z fan, I am thrilled about the announcement of Konosuba season 3! The first two seasons were hilarious and action-packed, and I can't wait to see what the third season has in store. The new trailer looks amazing, and I'm excited to see the new characters and voice actors. I'm also glad that Studio Drive is animating the third season, as they did a great job with the Konosuba: An Explosion on This Wonderful World! spinoff series.
I'm also looking forward to seeing how the story progresses in season 3. The first two seasons covered the first five volumes of the light novel series, so I'm expecting season 3 to adapt volumes 6 and 7. I'm curious to see how Kazuma and his friends will continue to grow and develop as characters, and I'm excited to see what new challenges they will face. Overall, I'm very excited about Konosuba season 3 and I can't wait to watch it when it releases in April 2024!
