Heather Rae El Moussa (formerly Young) is discussing her views on the future of Selling Sunset following her departure from the show.
"I'm not exactly sure what I can disclose, so I'll refrain from commenting. I'm not really informed about the situation. [However], I won't be appearing in [season] 8," Heather, 36, stated to Entertainment Tonight at the Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix Race. "Assuming there will even be an 8."
Netflix eventually renewed the reality series for an eighth season. Heather took to social media to reflect on her departure and praise her co-star Bre Tiesi.
Despite being opposites, Heather and Bre quickly became best friends. Heather shared on Instagram on Wednesday, December 6, along with photos of the two, "True friendship is when two friends can walk in opposite directions, yet remain side by side. Our friendship is stronger than ever, even though we're not on the same show together anymore."
Heather has been with the Oppenheim Group since before Netflix began featuring the company on Selling Sunset. In 2019, the show became an instant success, featuring Chrishell Stause, Mary Fitzgerald, Jason Oppenheim, Brett Oppenheim, Heather, Maya Vander, and Christine Quinn as part of the original cast.
Similar to Heather, Maya, 41, and Christine, 35, have since left the O Group. Amanza Smith, Emma Hernan, Chelsea Lazkani, Nicole Young, and Bre were added to the cast to expand the lineup amid the changes.

Heather hinted that her time on Selling Sunset could be ending after she gave birth to her son Tristan with her husband Tarek El Moussa in January. She filmed scenes for season 7 before taking maternity leave, but was reportedly not asked to return to conclude her storyline after giving birth.
"Season 7 is currently filming, but I've been off maternity leave and eager to go back to work, and so far I haven't been contacted," she told E! News in March. "I've been there since the pilot, from the very beginning."
Heather hinted once more that she was no longer part of the show after its season premiere.
In a November Instagram post, she wrote, "Selling Sunset season 7 is out now & you’ll get to see me in a few scenes with these two @joshrichards @bre_tiesi. Everything happens as it's meant to... And we all have a plan. It’s bittersweet to not be a part of SS anymore. But I do know that good or bad I wouldn’t change the experiences I had."
The post concluded: “Let the drama begin I’ll be no part of it Thank you -> next .”

Heather isn't the only member of the Selling Sunset cast who has been rethinking her choices. Bre hinted last month that she wasn't sure about coming back to the show or the Oppenheim Group after a challenging season 7.
“I don’t know how I feel,” Bre told The Hollywood Reporter after her feud with Cassandra Dawn played out on screen. “I think I need a little more therapy and a little bit more downtime.”
