Harry Kane is awaiting Tottenham's approval to travel to Germany for a medical examination on Friday, in anticipation of his possible transfer to Bayern Munich. Upon being informed of an agreed deal between the clubs, Kane made the decision to accept Bayern's offer.
The 30-year-old was being driven to Stansted airport this morning when he was told to not fly.
He turned back and is currently at a family home near the airport waiting for permission to fly.
Tottenham is attempting last-minute adjustments to the agreement with Bayern, who will be competing against RB Leipzig in the German Super Cup. The match will be broadcasted live on We Football starting at 7.35pm on Saturday, with kick-off scheduled for 7.45pm.
Bayern poised to sign England captain
Bayern are prepared to offer Tottenham £86m upfront for Kane, with additional payments potentially pushing the total value of the deal close to £100m - a new club record. With Kane's contract set to expire in just one year, and no clear signs of him committing to a renewal, Spurs regarded reaching an agreement for a transfer as the most suitable course of action.

Harry Kane, positioned at the center, will soon be joining the ranks of Bayern under the leadership of Thomas Tuchel on the right. The chairman of Spurs, Daniel Levy, is open to the idea of selling the talented striker. Throughout his time at Spurs, Kane has showcased his skills, netting an impressive 280 goals in 435 appearances since December 2011, when he scored his inaugural goal.
With 213 goals in 320 Premier League games, he is currently 48 goals off breaking Alan Shearer's record as the highest scorer in Premier League history.

Sky Germany Florian Plettenberg:Bayern Munich sources have informed me that they have reached a preliminary agreement with Tottenham regarding the acquisition of Harry Kane. However, it is important to note that the deal is not yet completely finalized as the clubs are currently working on ironing out the remaining details.
Kane's refusal seems highly improbable considering the circumstances. Unlike Kyle Walker, Kane has expressed his strong desire to join Bayern, even having a verbal agreement to sign a contract until 2028. This contract would span five years with possible additional options. Furthermore, as the highest-paid player, Kane's move to Bayern is a certainty according to the club.
"This is the reason Bayern never gave up and continued to negotiate with Daniel Levy. Now, it is close to being done."
View from Germany: I can't imagine Kane saying 'no'
We' Paul Merson:Tottenham cannot reject this offer knowing that there is only one year remaining on his contract and he is likely to leave for free thereafter.
"Although he is 30 years old, I disregard his age entirely. Considering his playing style, I believe he can continue playing until 35 or even 36 without any difficulty. His abilities do not depend on speed; his intelligence matches that of anyone else."
I'm still surprised to this day why Manchester United didn't acquire him. A potential four or five years of his talent would have brought them success in winning the Premier League.
They have no alternative - they surely cannot allow him to depart without any compensation next season. Regardless of who you are, in this modern era, despite the vast sums of money in the Premier League, it would be foolish to do so.
"Do you think this Tottenham team will secure a top-four spot next season? I would be extremely surprised. Therefore, it is not guaranteed that keeping him will secure a top-four finish. Therefore, whatever we lose from selling him, we will gain it back by participating in the Champions League. However, this will not be the situation.
Last season, Kane scored a remarkable 30 goals, yet Spurs did not come close to a top-four finish. It is unfortunate for Ange Postecoglou, but if he remains, there is a possibility that the team could secure a top-four spot. However, if he leaves, they will not even make it into the top half of the league! They will unequivocally become a bottom-half team if he departs."
"Who is going to get the goals? They finished eighth last season. I like James Maddison, he's a good player, but Leicester got relegated."
Merse: Spurs are bottom half if Kane goes

Kane's lack of trophies at Spurs raises the question of his potential move to Bayern Munich and the value he would gain from it.
Although he has expressed his willingness to make the switch, his insistence that it would be unjust to depart without a deal before the inaugural Premier League match highlights his unwavering loyalty to his childhood team. Clearly, for Kane, this isn't solely a financial matter. While he would undoubtedly become the highest-paid player at Bayern, his primary motivation behind this move is to establish a lasting legacy.
Considering this, the Premier League goalscoring record holds significant importance. Kane has been transparent about his aspiration to achieve this prestigious accolade, which would complement his existing scoring records for Tottenham and England. This achievement has previously been cited as a reason for his reluctance to move overseas. Furthermore, with 30 goals scored last season, he is in close proximity to breaking this record. As we explore the decision confronting Kane, senior journalist Peter Smith provides insight.

Harry Kane's impressive creativity stats for Tottenham in the 2022/23 Premier League season
Bayern Munich is in search of exceptional talent rather than settling for bargains. Having won the German championship 33 times, including the past 11 consecutive titles, they understand the significance of acquiring the finest player. Bayern Munich firmly believes that they have found this player in Kane and are willing to surpass the Bundesliga transfer record to bring the England captain to Bavaria. Despite Kane nearing 30 years old, there is hope that he can prove instrumental in the immediate future, aiding Bayern Munich in their pursuit of the coveted Champions League title.
While Bayern Munich were the top scorers in the Bundesliga last season, finding a striker seems necessary. Feature writer Adam Bate discusses the logic behind a potential move to the club.
