Harrison Ford playfully mocks Conan O'Brien for writing a unnecessary note about Star Wars character Han Solo. Ford appeared on the Conan O'Brien Needs A Friend podcast to talk about his career and his relationship with the host. However, it appears that Conan couldn't quite recall which character Ford portrayed in Star Wars.
In a clip from the podcast shared on Twitter by Nicholas (@NicholasJLevi), Ford jokingly pokes fun at the fact that Conan had to jot down "Harrison Ford - Han Solo" in his notes prior to the interview.
Harrison Ford Gives As Good As He Gets
It is unclear why Conan felt the need to remind himself that Harrison Ford portrayed Han Solo in the iconic Star Wars franchise. Nevertheless, the talk show host was quick to counter the actor's joke. Conan contended that he couldn't recall Ford's character in Star Wars, instead, only recollecting memories of Chewbacca and "the villainous figure donning a black helmet."In reference to Star Wars, Conan humorously remarked about Harrison Ford not "popping," which prompted the actor to question why Conan was no longer on television. This comedic exchange serves as a delightful reminder of Ford's comedic prowess despite his often serious demeanor. Numerous interviews featuring Harrison Ford, particularly those centered around his iconic roles as Han Solo and Indiana Jones, frequently yield remarkable quotes and memorable moments.
In a 2006 interview, Conan once questioned Harrison Ford about the Star Wars Holiday Special, to which the actor responded by claiming it did not exist. Fast forward to the marketing campaign for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Conan asked Ford for some Star Wars spoilers, and Ford agreed, revealing that Lucasfilm was considering making another installment. It is worth noting that Ford's distinctive sense of humor when discussing his career can sometimes create misunderstandings about his feelings towards the character Han Solo. However, Ford has repeatedly expressed his appreciation for the role and the significance of Star Wars in his career. Despite his portrayal of various iconic characters, Ford will always be closely associated with Han Solo to some extent, although Conan's apparent need for a reminder of this fact is interesting.
