Harrison Ford recently shared his definitive stance on the long-standing Blade Runner mystery concerning the true nature of his character, Deckard. Originally, the film portrayed Deckard as a human cop who falls in love with a group of androids, known as replicants, that he is tasked with hunting down. However, subsequent cuts of the movie added footage suggesting that Deckard himself may be a replicant. I always knew that I was a replicant. I just wanted to push back against it though. I think a replicant would want to believe that they're human. At least this one did.

Denis Villeneuve's Blade Runner 2049 brought in a fresh perspective on the Deckard replicant debate, but instead of providing a definite answer, Villeneuve opted to leave the question open for interpretation. In an interview with CinemaBlend in 2017, he stated that he wanted to respect the original film's ambiguity and allow the audience to continue to speculate on Deckard's humanity.
