Halle Berry Set to Bring Her A-Game in John Wick 4

Director of John Wick 4 confirms Halle Berry's return to the franchise Fans are excited and wondering if her character, Sofia, could have her own spinoff John Wick: Chapter 4 is now available on VOD

Director Chad Stahelski has revealed plans to bring back Halle Berry's character in future John Wick franchise installments. Berry played Sofia Al-Azwar, an assassin who manages the Casablanca Continental Hotel, in John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum. Although John's relationship with Sofia ended on a sour note, with her involvement in the death of a High Table associate, Stahelski has confirmed that there have been discussions with Berry regarding her potential return. He has also revealed that there are several unannounced projects in the works based on the world of John Wick, but has not disclosed where Sofia's character could fit into the franchise's future.

"Yeah. We've had multiple discussions about expanding the Wick franchise through other satellite projects. Although I dislike the term spinoff, I hope these endeavors prove to be successful."

Could Sofia Have Her Own Spinoff?

Currently, there are only two confirmed John Wick spinoffs. One is a movie titled Ballerina, featuring Ana de Armas, and the other is a limited series called The Continental, which explores Winston's journey to becoming a powerful figure and the origin of the New York Continental Hotel. Additionally, director Stahelski has mentioned a mystery TV show set in the John Wick universe is in development. It remains to be seen how many spinoffs will accompany the recently announced John Wick 5.

Berry's character Sofia could potentially be the focus of a new project, either as a standalone film or as part of the John Wick franchise. Reeves would return as John Wick, and discussions for a Sofia-centered movie have already taken place. Producer Erica Lee is interested in exploring themes related to dogs and their origins through Sofia's character or Shamier Anderson's Mr. Nobody. There is a lot of potential for Sofia's arc to be further developed, and a spinoff movie could even see her team up with Mr. Nobody to educate him on the use of dogs in combat, which has been a significant aspect of the franchise. The possibilities for a Sofia-related spinoff are numerous, depending on the success of upcoming spinoffs in both theaters and on television.
