Danny Trejo Takes Over: Mexican John Wick AI Art Sparks Excitement

Danny Trejo pitches a Mexican John Wick spinoff using AI art, adding competition to Keanu Reeves' iconic role Reeves has dominated the John Wick franchise since 2014, but Trejo's proposed spinoff presents an exciting new vision for the franchise With the recent success of John Wick: Chapter 4, the possibilities for the franchise are endless

Today, Keanu Reeves may have met his match as new art has surfaced featuring Danny Trejo as the iconic John Wick. Reeves has been portraying the skilled assassin since the first movie's release in 2014, taking viewers on a thrilling journey through a world of colorful assassins and action-packed mayhem. With the latest installment, John Wick: Chapter 4, grossing over $1 billion at the box office, the franchise shows no sign of slowing down.

Taking to Twitter, celebrated character actor Danny Trejo shared a series of images showcasing himself in various poses that perfectly capture the spirit of the John Wick universe.

The generative AI program Midjourney was used by a fan to create the images that have been circulating on the internet since earlier this Spring. Danny Trejo, in his playful pitch for a revamped version of the franchise called Juan Wick, proposes the tagline "they just messed with the wrong Mexican." It's clear that Trejo would be an excellent addition to the John Wick franchise.

Trejo's absence from the John Wick franchise is surprising given his perfect fit for the role. As an iconic action movie character actor, he has lent his talents to many big-name franchises, including Spy Kids, The Crow, Predator, Machete, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and even Star Wars, where he recently appeared in a cameo for the Book of Boba Fett.

The John Wick franchise has a history of paying tribute to legendary action movie performers like Trejo. The upcoming Chapter 4 features a talented ensemble, with the addition of Donnie Yen from Rogue One and Scott Adkins from Universal Soldier. Reeves has worked alongside other iconic action stars in previous entries, such as Laurence Fishburne, Halle Berry, and Ian McShane.

While Trejo has yet to appear in the franchise, there is hope that he may join the cast in the future. With the release of the miniseries The Continental and the Ballerina spinoff starring Ana de Armas already in the works, as well as John Wick: Chapter 5, the franchise is set to expand even further. This provides numerous opportunities to introduce Trejo to the world of John Wick.
