Halle Berry Reminisces on 30 Years of The Flintstones

Halle Berry cherishes her time in Bedrock, reminiscing about her role in The Flintstones. In an Instagram video posted on Sunday, May 26, the actress fondly remembers playing the seductive secretary Sharon Stone as the movie celebrates its 30th anniversary.
"You message me every year about The Flintstones film, so I wanted to do something special for the 30th anniversary. Love you all for supporting Miss Stone all these years," Berry, 57, wrote in the caption of the post.

In the video, Berry rewatches scenes from the 1994 comedy and recalls memories from the set.
The actress admits, "I haven't seen this movie in about 20 years."
Berry remembers her youthful self, recalling her soft voice in the movie when Sharon meets Fred Flintstone (portrayed by John Goodman) for the first time.
Her short hairdo that became iconic was also mentioned by her as she reflected on the significance of playing a Black character in The Flintstones, a live-action adaptation of the classic 1960 animated sitcom.
"Living as a Black woman in Bedrock may have seemed insignificant at first, but The Flintstones held a special place in our cultural fabric," Berry explains. "I understood the significance of this milestone for Black individuals, particularly Black women."
"As comical and exaggerated as it may have been, I recognized the significance of my role in this major film," the Oscar winner reflects.
The Flintstones also featured Rosie O’Donnell, Rick Moranis, Elizabeth Perkins, Kyle MacLachlan, and Elizabeth Taylor in her last movie role.
Halle Berry’s role was first offered to Sharon Stone, but she turned it down because of scheduling conflicts.
Berry recently took to social media to reflect on her iconic character from an X movie in 2022. In her post, she expressed gratitude for the love and support the character has received over the years. She highlighted the significance of the character and its impact on the audience.
After appearing in The Flintstones, Berry continued to showcase her talent in the X-Men series, the James Bond film Die Another Day, and she even took home the best actress Academy Award for her performance in Monster’s Ball.
