In early 2024, several significant departures are expected for Xbox Game Pass. Reports indicate that Grand Theft Auto V, Persona 3 Portable, and Persona 4 Golden will be exiting the subscription service on January 15, according to X user Idle Sloth.
Confirmation of this news can be found on our website through the Xbox Game Pass app, where all three games are listed under the Leaving Soon section, although no specific date is provided. Additionally, Garden Story and MotoGP 22 will be joining them on console and PC.
In July 2023, GTA V was unexpectedly added to Xbox Game Pass, marking its availability for around six months. In contrast, the game had previously been removed from the subscription service after only three months in July 2021.
Similarly, Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden joined Xbox Game Pass in January 2023, and have since been available on the platform for a year. Additionally, the remake Persona 3 Reload is expected to launch on Xbox Game Pass early this year.
In 2024, Xbox Game Pass might see significant new additions with the inclusion of Activision Blizzard titles such as Call of Duty, Diablo, and Crash Bandicoot. Activision Blizzard confirmed in October that they would start working on bringing their game library to the service after Microsoft's acquisition of the company.

As a hard fan of GTA 5, I am disappointed to hear that it will be leaving Xbox Game Pass again in six months. I have been enjoying the game immensely since it was added to the service in July 2023, and I was hoping that it would remain available for a longer period. I understand that Microsoft has to rotate games in and out of Game Pass to keep the service fresh, but I wish they could make an exception for GTA 5. It is one of the most popular games in the world, and I am sure that many other subscribers would be disappointed to see it go.
I am also a fan of Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden, and I am sad to see them leaving Game Pass as well. These games are both excellent RPGs, and I have been enjoying playing them for the first time on Game Pass. I am grateful that I had the opportunity to experience these games, but I wish I could have played them for longer. I hope that Microsoft will consider adding them back to Game Pass in the future.
