The Recording Academy is excited to announce the upcoming 2025 Grammy Awards.
According to a press release, the 67th annual awards show will be broadcast live on CBS on February 2, 2025. Fans can also watch the Grammys live or on demand on Paramount+.
The release included important dates for the awards ceremony. Nominations will be revealed on November 8 for music released between September 16, 2023, and August 30 of this year. The first round of voting occurs a month prior to confirming the nominees, with final votes counted by January 3, 2025.
This announcement follows the 2024 Grammy Awards, hosted by Trevor Noah. SZA led with nine nominations, winning Best R&B Song for “Snooze” and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for the song “Ghost in the Shell” with Phoebe Bridgers. Bridgers, age 29, took home the most trophies at the ceremony, winning four awards as a solo artist and with Boygenius.
Miley Cyrus won her first Grammy awards with Record of the Year for “Flowers” and Best Pop Solo Performance. Billie Eilish's "What Was I Made For?" was named Song of the Year, while Victoria Monét took home the Best New Artist award. Taylor Swift's album "Midnights" was crowned Album of the Year.
In addition to winning Album of the Year, Taylor Swift also received the Best Pop Vocal Album trophy for her 2022 record. During her acceptance speech, she surprised fans by announcing her 11th studio album, "The Tortured Poets Department," which contains a total of 31 songs. With this new release, Swift is expected to continue her winning streak at the 2025 Grammy Awards.
TTPD faces tough competition this year, especially from Beyoncé's highly anticipated album Cowboy Carter, released in March. Swift, 34, and Beyoncé, 42, have competed against each other nine times at awards shows.
Back in 2010, both artists were nominated for Album of the Year for Fearless and I Am ... Sasha Fierce, with Swift winning. They also competed in three other categories, with Beyoncé winning Song of the Year for "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for "Halo." Kings of Leon's "Use Somebody" won Record of the Year, beating both artists.
The pop stars faced off again at the Grammy Awards in 2020, 2021 and 2023.
