The countdown to music’s biggest night — the 66th annual Grammy Awards — starts now.

On Friday, November 10, the Recording Academy enlisted a lineup of powerhouse performers including Kim Petras, St. Vincent, Jimmy Jam, Jon Bon Jovi, "Weird Al" Yankovic, and more, to announce the nominees for the 2024 Grammys. The highly anticipated ceremony is scheduled to take place on February 4 at Los Angeles's Crypto.com Arena, where all attention was focused on who would be nominated for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Album of the Year, and more.

Following the monumental success of Taylor Swift's Eras Tour, which solidified her billionaire status, many anticipated that her album "Midnights" would secure her yet another Album of the Year nomination. Prior to the nominations, Swift had been nominated for the award five times, winning three times for her albums "Fearless", "1989", and "Folklore" in the years 2010, 2016, and 2021 respectively.

Other early predictions included Morgan Wallen for his highly successful song "One Thing at a Time," Olivia Rodrigo for her track "Guts," Zach Bryan for his self-titled album, SZA for her song "SOS," boygenius for their album "The Record," and Foo Fighters for their tribute to Taylor Hawkins titled "But Here We Are." In a period where hip-hop was relatively quiet, 21 Savage and Drake's "Her Loss," Travis Scott's "Utopia," and Metro Boomin's "Heroes and Villains" were considered as potential contenders for Album of the Year.

At the 2023 Grammys, Beyoncé made history by winning a total of 32 Grammy awards, becoming the artist with the most wins ever. However, only one of those awards belonged to the coveted "Big Four" categories, which include Album, Record, and Song of the Year, as well as Best New Artist. Beyoncé's sole victory in the "Big Four" occurred in 2010 when she won Song of the Year for "Single Ladies."

In 2023, Lizzo continued to dominate the Rap and R&B category with another win for her track "About Damn Time," beating out Beyonce's "Break My Soul" for Record of the Year. Bonnie Raitt's "Just Like That" took home the Song of the Year accolade. Once again, Beyoncé was denied Album of the Year, as Harry Styles' "Harry's House" triumphed over Renaissance.

The eligibility period for the 66th Grammy Awards extended from October 1, 2022, to September 14, 2023. In June, the Recording Academy announced changes for the 2024 ceremony. After two years of featuring 10 nominees in the prominent "Big Four" categories — Album, Record, Song of the Year, and Best New Artist — the Academy decided to reduce the number of potential nominees to eight. Additionally, the Academy introduced new categories such as Best Pop Dance Recording, Best African Music Performance, and Best Alternative Jazz Album.

The Recording Academy has streamlined its categories, reducing the number of fields outside of the "Big Four" from 29 to 11. This decision was made because many of these fields only had one or two categories. In the Grammys, voters are limited to 10 votes. Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. stated that this consolidation offers voters more flexibility, allowing them to fully showcase their expertise. Last year, there was a missed opportunity to harness everyone's expertise, as some individuals wanted to vote in multiple categories but were unable to.

Below is the complete list of nominations. Tune in to CBS or live stream on Paramount+ this Sunday, February 4th, to watch the ceremony live.
