Joan Vassos, 61, has a clear message for potential suitors on The Golden Bachelorette. In an interview with CNN published on Wednesday, May 15, Joan emphasized that her family is her top priority. She stated, "I'll never leave my family. They are the most important people in the world to me. I expect the person I end up with to feel the same way because family is key to me."

The mother of four and grandmother of two, who gained fame as a contestant on Gerry Turner's season of The Golden Bachelor, wants to make it clear that she is open to spending extended periods of time with a new partner as they navigate their relationship.

However, she wants to emphasize that she has no intention of abandoning her family and is not planning to pack her bags and leave them behind.

Joan suggested that perhaps you will eventually find a vacation spot that suits both you and your families, or have a second home where everyone can gather.

The school administrator from Maryland also had a similar conversation with Gerry, 72, on The Golden Bachelor.

Joan shared that Gerry's first question to her was about how they could make a long-distance relationship work. She mentioned that she believed in living a dual life to make it happen.

During her time on The Golden Bachelor, Joan showed her strong commitment to her family. She decided to self-eliminate from the show when she learned that her daughter was struggling after giving birth.

Joan, the former Golden Bachelorette, shared that her family's reaction has been a bit of a mix. Her first and third children find it fun and see it as a cool experience for their mom. However, her daughter Erica and son Luke feel a bit embarrassed. They cringe at the thought of their mom kissing a guy on TV, worried about what their friends might think as they watch the show.

Ultimately, Joan said, “All of them want me to find love.”

The Golden Bachelorette premieres this fall on ABC.
