Microsoft adds Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy to Xbox Game Pass, giving subscribers access to the beloved collection of courtroom drama games.
The Ace Attorney series skillfully blends visual novel storytelling, puzzle-solving, and point-and-click gameplay to deliver exhilarating court battles infused with ingenious writing and sharp wit.
Introducing the trilogy to Xbox Game Pass has the potential to cultivate a fresh fan base for the franchise on Xbox consoles while generating anticipation for forthcoming installments, such as the highly anticipated Apollo Justice Trilogy.
Microsoft has once again updated the Xbox Game Pass library, this time by adding Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy. In their announcement earlier this month, Microsoft revealed the list of new games joining Xbox Game Pass in the latter half of September 2023. However, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy was not included in the Wave 2 announcement for Game Pass.
Although not mentioned in the initial announcement, Microsoft did showcase other noteworthy games such as the co-op heist shooter Payday 3, the party game Party Beasts reminiscent of Gang Beasts, and the upcoming indie game Cocoon, which will be available on Game Pass later this week. The unveiling of Ace Attorney on Game Pass took place during the Tokyo Game Show, and now Game Pass subscribers can enjoy this beloved collection.
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy compiles the original Ace Attorney trilogy into a convenient package, granting fans access to Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Justice for All, and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Trials and Tribulations. Originally released on the Game Boy Advance but ultimately finding greater success on the Nintendo DS, Capcom's beloved Ace Attorney series is highly regarded, with the first three games often lauded as the pinnacle of the franchise. Therefore, it is strongly advised that Xbox Game Pass subscribers who have yet to experience these games take the time to discover them.
Introducing Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy to Xbox Game Pass aims to attract a fresh audience to the franchise on Xbox consoles, fostering anticipation for future game releases. Following this release, fans can look forward to Apollo Justice Trilogy, which comprises the subsequent three games in the series: Apollo Justice, Dual Destinies, and Spirit of Justice. While it remains uncertain if Apollo Justice Trilogy will also be available on Xbox Game Pass, it's worth noting that Capcom has previously made some of its games, such as Exoprimal, accessible on the platform from day one.
With the launch of the Apollo Justice Trilogy, the entirety of the Ace Attorney main series will be available to play on Xbox. However, there are still a few games in the franchise that are not accounted for, including the spin-off titles Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth and its sequel, The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles collection, and the crossover game Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright. At the moment, Capcom has not announced any intentions to bring these games to Xbox, leaving fans content with the two main series compilations.
